They would need a lot more than ir lights to use nvgs. The interior of a Tacoma will not let nv work due to reflections. Need some interior mods.

The 1st gens that went over were modified in the interior. Radios pulled, door dingers D/C'd, and the interior lights were disconnected so as to not illuminate someone when they opend the doors at night. The double IR lights installed on the push bars were sufficient to provide light for the NVG's. The capabilities of new NVGs far surpasses what we had back in say Desert Storm.

I for one would like to know what brand of Brush Guard that is. It doesnt look like no run of the mill push bar or bull bar. Appears much more stout.

And the M240 swivel mounts are definitely used a lot. May not have a Russian DSHK up there but a M240B can rip it up when needed. The 1st Gens had them back in 01 and so do these. But likes been said, from a distance it will appear similar to the current "technicals" and gun trucks used by the Taliban and other wild bunches in the AO.

Just a few things this truck has heavy tow loops for slingloading under a helo, huge led light bar behind the cover on the front bumper, ( could use an ir filter over the light bar) The bed bar/cage goes through the bed and is attached directly to the frame. the bed has a carbon fiber bed liner, flush mounted cups to secure stuff in the bed, all of the small storage pockets in the bed were opened up huge and made of carbon fiber, the large side pockets usually get extra weapons ect put in them. the back of the truck is a dark matte charcoal color wrapped/ painted to reduce glare if anything was to drive up behind them. the bumper was made by trd heavy steel looks like you could run through some mud huts with it. the interior has been set up pretty awesome with racks for weapons, dash mounted tough books, plenty of storage room. I hope they release the bumper personally.

now drop a 5.7 or the diesel from a Hilux in that thing and it would be perfect.

Cool ride. Troops deserve at least a decent attempt at what's best, not the crap attempt like was posted about on previous pages.

Actually a diesel would work since it would run on JP8. Back when we designed the Blackhawk and the Humvee, we could sling load a standard Humvee under a standard Blackhawk. Things have changed.

Nice job on the truck, the exterior civilian lines really help to stay under the weather. I suspect the gun mount connects to the frame, and the gas tanks have interior foam. And Toyota can source parts easily.

What do they plan on doing with this thing? It doesn't seem like it's going to get deployed anywhere.

Very super awesome rig though, might have to check it out.

Let it get deployed and hit one 40lb IED and it will all be gone. This will be a joke if under heavy contact. Stick with the military rated vehicles.

Just curious if anyone knows the reason they picked a white truck? To blend in with civilian vehicles? Of course machine gun mounts and all the other upgrades seem to make it stick out from the crowd anyway. I would have figured a tan or more earthy color would have been first choice.
