    ya, it's gonna take a lot of trial and error, but i knew that going into this.

    you can't curve the bottom of the gauge pod to the dash. the bottom mounting plate is too thin to make a curve in it and would ruin the mounting points. good idea though.

    go back to the first page and look at pics 4 and 5. it will show you what i'm talking about

    i knew this was gonna be a pain in the ass, but it's something i have to deal with. i've got my illumination wires hooked up and....... nothing

    Also very interested!!!! I would love to do this to my truck (just for the cool factor) I know your "assmeter" is better as most guys say. I just think it's freaking cool! I love the altimeter in the older runners and surf and I also like the pitch and roll in 2 separate dashes. I was thinking of doing some serious custom work and somehow mod of fab the FJ pod to hold surf style gauges (Alt, pitch, roll). I also think it would be cool to have the thermometer in the middle of the altimeter gauge. My truck didn't come with a thermometer like having an idea of the outside temp. Does anyone have any idea where one would go to get gauges made?

    Also, I want to see where this goes.

    I take it the OP gave up on this project??? I always hated mine when I had my FJ. Just more crap to block the view of the road. The '12 Taco with the temp and compass in the rearview is so much more functional without being a huge box on your dash.

    Diamond Axle SAS, TRD FJ calipers and brembo rotors on all 4, FJ rear axle, 5.29's and elockers in both, 3rz swap and dual cases,4.7 rear case,00 taco dash, bobbed bed,soft topper,raceline beadlocks, fj cruiser steering wheel and clinometer, super white paint and 37'' kevlars. Much more but i will keep it simple.
    Im wondering what happened here...Im doing this retrofit but to a 00 tacoma wiring harness in an 87 pick up. I have the full FJ harness and a running fj but cant seem to figure out the red with blue(AC amplifier) wire. Its giving funny readings with a volt meter that dont change with temp adjustment on the sensor. Anyone care to chime in? I have the FJ truck harness laid out on my office floor like it was in the truck...Anyone that hasn't messed with one cant say finding the AC amplifier is easy by hunting the wire..
