I have a few days off near the end of the month and I want to go up and check out Pismo, Morro Bay and Hearst Castle. Recommendations on anything else? Needs to be suitable for a 3 and 7 year old.

What are you looking for exactly? The Hobbit movie is slated to be playing at the beautiful art deco Fremont Theater in downtown San Luis Obispo. It is one of VERY FEW theaters that will be showing the movie in "high speed" 3D. I can't recommend that theater too highly.

Stop along the coast above Hearst Castle and view the sea lions on the beach. That's always extremely popular. Also, the Monarch butterflies are at the eucalyptus grove in Pismo Beach in December/January. THOUSANDS of them in just a few trees.

Are you planning to do some off-roading on the dunes at Pismo? Are you 4WD? Even if you're not, you can get away with driving the beach.

You can find all this stuff on the Internet if it sounds interesting.
