    Hey guys,

Some way or how my upper sway bar connect came apart while on the trails and fell on to the cv boot and completely tore it off. Grease was every where and it was very messy. I got to my garage and cleaned it up and inspected it. The axle looks fine so I reattached the sway bar.

How long can I go without a boot and all the grease before it seizes up? I can't get the parts until Sunday. I just ask because I live nearly an hour from work.

Not long. I would avoid driving it as much as possible but just clean it and grease it whenever you can

You'll be fine till Sunday I ran my truck with a torn cv boot for two years and it never started clicking and I had wheeled the piss out of it . The grease stayed in there or at least enough of it to not cause me problems. If you're worried, just throw some grease in there and be on your way. Chance are some of it will come out while driving, but you should be ok.

Get you some clear food wrap and wrap it in that real good and use a few Zip ties.
Have done that in the past, can even use a section of a trash bag just make it wrap in the same way it axle turns.
It is a good fix to stop sand or water from getting in, or grease getting all over.
Worked several times on trips to get home and will work for 100-200 miles in most cases.

Might try a bread bag. Like putting one over a cast while in the shower.

Awesome. Thanks for help guys. I will try covering it or now just to keep the sand, salt and water out for now. New Hampshire roads suck this time of year. I will keep you posted on how it goes.

If you do not have a locker or spool...
Jack that one wheel up, then turn the wheel to the front as you would drive. Just let the Wrap ... Wrap around it, a bunch.
You can get small rolls or use a good blade to cut one down to mak it better but thinking it is the outside a 10" to 12" roll will work and then zip tie it as I said. You can even use some tape.
You just want it to spin in the direction that it does no catch air and want to unwrap.
