Hoping to break in my new toy this weekend! Some snow in the forecast (not much, but enough to motivate me to hit the slopes) for the weekend.

Never Summer Heritage 158. Yah, it wasn't cheap :( After taxes around $600. Cracked my Burton Sherlock last year. It was under warranty so they replaced it with a new one. I wanted a shorter board and the graphic they sent me was horrid. Craigslisted it right away for $400 so that really helped. Going to try Flow bindings this year. If I like em, great. If not, I'll get something else. I've heard mixed reviews so I figured I'd just see for myself.

yep thats it. with out tax it’s like $560 or something.

and don’t get flow. thats what i have(can see pic on 1st page 1st post) if you have any ice(even very very very small pieces) it’s kinda hard to use the ratchets. i usually get them set for the day and just release the back on them and slide boot out from the back. easier than dealing with the ratchets. i’m not that found of them, and am thinking about getting new ones and selling those on CL. if your like me you will not like them. so IMHO don’t waste your money one them get something els. i want some rome or ride, or something.

you may not have the ice like we do. but even with slush it’s hard to work the ratchets.

My old Sherlock is on page 8 of this forum ;) I figured I'd at least give the Flow's a whirl... I allready know what I want if they don't work out. Some K2 Hurrithane's. Demo'd them last year and really liked the flex. My old Burton Mission's were just too damn stiff.

Absolutely. Different conditions need different wax, and unless you're riding powder, wax only lasts a few days.

Same here.. Wax my boards atleast every 2-3 days of riding.

I think you'll really enjoy the NS. I have a NS sl and I love it.

Interested to hear what you think of the flow bindings. I've wondered about them for a few years now. Actually ordered a set of gnu street bindings which are similar to flow in that they have a folding high back. The top strap automatically loosens when you drop the high back, which is something I don't think flows do. Can't wait to try them out. This is my latest start to the snowboard season in like the last 5 years :(

no flow do not automatically loosen when you lower the high back. kinda sucks. also you can’t get they quite as tight if you plain on using the high back. both of witch things kinda sucks, and make me want deferent bindings.

I rarely every waxed my boards. Usually it's just cause I really beat the shit out of them. Don't need a super fast board for the park. Though I think I am going to take care of this skate banana more than I did my stair master. I ended up cracking the stairmaster on both ends by the time I was done with it. It was one of my favorite boards though. It was defective from the factory and had the top sheet rip off on my first ride so I gave it a custom look.

I raced boardercross for like 4 years so I'm still in the mentality of a fresh wax all the time. Some of the guys I raced against would go hot wax their board at their car in between heats, and brush some fluoro powder onto the base of the board before each race. I don't get crazy like that though.. I also didn't ride a boardercross board like them. I qualified for nationals 3 times on a park board.

I've got the 2011 hurrithanes. Performance wise, I really like them, but quality wise, they could use some work. The toe straps started to rip after a few days and the straps come loose pretty easily

How didn't I find this thread sooner? I want to go to tahoe soon but I don't know of the snow hitting just yet. My girlfriend also is a total buzzkill and doesn't like to do crap, that includes no snow sports. :O

I'm looking at getting some Oakley Airwave or the Zeal Z3's here pretty soon. Badass chit right there!

Those look really nice! They remind me of my 2005-07 Burton Custom bindings I use on my current Burton board now. I always liked K2, but then again maybe I was just partial to it because of the game 2xtreme on playstation one. :D

    Totally agree!

I have 2 sets of ride bindings and love them

    Ride EX
    Ride Revolt

I run those on my all mountain boards and they are absolutely awesome! But for a dedicated park board all plastic really is better IMO. Dont get me wrong though, Ride bindings are very high quality and worth every penny!

I am new to boarding but my buddy gave me a set of binding that you set in the am and just use the clip in the back when you get in and out. Wicked good for a fat old guy compared to sitting down to ratchet in each time

I have a set of revolts, but my favorite all time binding is the ride contraband. Light as hell and still holds your boot strong but allows you to flex when needed
