I did get an email in response from this dealer stating the claims made in this thread are factual. I do agree it seems odd but I believe it to be true after hearing back from them.

Like I said BAD PDI! We had a customer come in with a extremely harsh ride and the spring blocks were not removed they got new struts on all four corners along with brand new tires because they wore unevenly.

PDI inspections do not include frame/wheel alignment head lamp alignment or other such things. Just the basic things like does the door close, light work horn beep this is not an annual on an air craft. It is a fixable problem considered adjustment, body shops do this kind of stuff all day long. It is not a collision repair and will never show up on the record as such.

True but if the vehicle has a scratched lower valance for example you'll look under the truck for more damage. Just have the frame straightened and call it a done deal.

It is possible the dealer was overpaying for IT services and OP's company saved them a lot of money. :D

This thread really exposes how and why consumers are always getting it in the ass by businesses. The ignorance and willingness by some posters here to accept a NEW truck like this is astounding. Of course Toyota is going to deny his claim at first. Why? Because most ignorant fools would accept the denial and live with the truck as is. Stupid!

I have sued both Toyota Corp and the dealer for a substandard Lexus I once bought. Basically, the "premium" sound system I paid extra for sounded worse than their "standard" sound system. It took several months but their corporate office called me at home and settled their case with me out of court to make it go away. I signed their paperwork and they cut me check for the extra I paid for the "premium" system.

Contrary to what some have said here that Toyota has lawyers at the ready to fight you is not true. They do have lawyers but, the very last thing Toyota wants to do is go to court. That's just really bad for a business in more ways than one.

I don't post much but this thread got me all riled up and hopefully it will get somebody to stop taking it in the ass by rip off businesses.

^Interesting. Of course, when the time came to sell your Lexus, the "premium" sound system (Mark Levinson?) probably increased the resale value.

"Calling people that would've chosen to have the frame straightened "ignorant fools" was rude."

    Agreed. My apologies.

Ya know, these trucks ARE built in Texas nowadays. The UAW-made trucks in Kalifornia didn't have bent frames. :p

I know a very good one that helped me twice - last time I got to drive a $70-80k car for two years, for the cost of insurance and gas!

Hate to say this but this in my opinion is the result of the tacoma being built in TX instead of Japan...my hood doesnt line up properly either,my engine idles rough from day 1,all kinds of engine noises at startup I don't get with my jap assembled rav 4....
The build quality in the U.S. is inferior ...toyota made a mistake building them here.
