well apparently doing cookies and redlining it for a long period of time isnt good for your engine and may cause it to blow up like mine... haha.

First concern I would have is if the original engine can be rebuilt. If not you will be looking at paying a core charge unless you buy a used engine. That aside, it depends on what you are wanting to replace it with. Do you want a rebuilt engine, or will a used engine be ok? If a used engine is ok, then you can look at http://info.automotix.net/usedengines/2005-toyota-tacoma-inventory.html?fit_notes=9c6aed9337fbe00505a79fb574e06080&seq_num=4

and go from there. The good thing is that their engine prices include shipping. You may need to find a place with a loading dock that will let you unload it, or a place with a forklift to unload it. I have bought engines and transmissions through this network with reasonable success. One time the engine came in and was locked up, and they quickly sent a replacement.....and left the locked up engine with me.....Now I have a spare Nissan 3000 that I can rebuild....

SEMA's a car show in Las Vegas, here's a write up about the truck. the idea of it is pretty intense, and i'm sure it'd be one of a kind. the only problem would be if it fits, and how many things your gonna replace to get it to work in the way it should. my guess is you'd have to replace t he computer, Diff, transmission and suspension for the added weight. really though i'd research the heck out of the subject before you invest your life's savings into your truck.

    .
That's quite an expensive lesson to learn about what not to do to these engines

Doing donuts (or cookies?) on the lawn at your local airport and blowing up your engine? Maybe you should just stick to a bicycle.

Will he be paying for it? And if yes, why the hell did you do something so stupid? Now if your bought the truck and are responsible for paying for it and all repairs, then shit happens.
