PSI help on 235/85/16 E winter tires

Hey, I got 4 Blizzaks installed on my 06 DC TRD SPORT at Costco, and they set the PSI to 45 lbs, saying that the heavier and narrower tire needs that much weight in it. The tires are LT235/85/16 10 ply.

45 lbs, especially on a tacoma's unloaded rear end seems crazy to me. I've been waiting to do a chalk test but I haven't had an opportunity to do it on dry roads.

235/85 vs. 265/75: Should there be much difference in optimal PSI?

 

id run em @ your stock reccomended pressures 29 front and 32 rear.....

 

Do the chaulk test and find the best pressure for your truck. Stock recommended pressures don't mean anything with aftermarket tires, especially when they're a different size from stock and a different load range.

 

I lowered the rears to about 40psi cuz obviously it was very stiff over bumps with an empty bed...my steers are at 45 I believe
