About 4 of us did a Holy Jims run last night all the way to the back. Pretty fun out there with the mud and rain!

 

Guys running 40 psi, what load range do you have? C, E? I've got E's and am running about 36 front 34 rear with good wear.

 

I vary mine widely, but my Cs are typically in low to mid 40s. My hyposthesis is that varying your tire pressures during rotations will extend life and help even out the tread wear .
Seriously though, I've spent an ass-load of time jacking with the chalk line test and seem to get favorable results in low 30s all the way up to high 40s.
I'm gonna get well over 50k on mine.

I had 265/75r16 load C and I ran 32 psi front and 30 psi rear unloaded. Seems to be what a lot of members with mostly stock Tacomas are running with that size and load range.

 

I have load range C's. I run 38 front and 36 rear. Wow, these sure look low at higher pressures. And the chalk test shows to run them this high.

 

My mpg dropped when i installed these comming from BFG All Terrians, but i love the look so much its woth it!

 

I'm currently in the market for new tires and I have read the majority of this thread and think I'm good to go with the following but wanted to get confirmation from folks with experience.

Bone Stock 04 Double Cab 4X4 - Stock tire size is 265/70R16. GY doesn't make this size. From some of the other posts it seems 265/75R16 will work fine with no rubbing on my stock truck.

Can anyone confirm.

Has anyone put 265/75r16 Duratracs on a 9" wide wheel? I have some Moto Metal 951 16x9 and I am currently running 285's but want a little smaller so i can get some more suspension flex without rubbing.

I am just wanting some opinions on the look of a 265 with a leveling kit vs a 285 and if a 265 will fit on a 9" wide wheel...

 

I think it would look fine, Goodyear recommends a 7-9" rim width so you should be good there, but the better answer is more trimming!

265/70/16 which is a 30"-31" is rated for up to a 8.5" wide wheel.

I am running 16x8.5" with my 265/75/16 and they look appropriate.
9" might be pushing it, so probably best to double check with some professionals before installing.

 

You can run a 265 on a 9" with no issues. I'm running 265/70/17's on 9" wheels. I have a picture of it in my gallery.

 

Yup, my bad, I looked it up, not sure how I ended up with that range.

 

Just check the tire manufacturer specs on their website.. It will show what rim width min/max is recommended for the different sizes.... I'd follow those suggestions before anyone else's..

 

Anyone running 275 65 18's?

 

I'm not sure if this will help or not but I have 265/70/R17 with the TRD sport stock suspension and if I was a half inch bigger I'd be rubbing like crazy. They fit just right.

 

I can tell you from years of experience in the tire industry, that in the real world those recommendations don't mean a whole lot, and there's zero issue with a 265 on a 9".

Looks sick Clay! 285 only in E correct? I'd hate those mpg numbers, but appearance is badass! Nice bed cover as well.

Edit: 58 lbs each per Tirerack. Perhaps not too bad. 265 Cs are 45.
