I wonder if it has to do with the type of paint used. I am not a painter so please dont take this as irrefutable truth but I believe the white model do not have a clear coat on them. Instead they used a two stage paint on the body. This was to avoid the clear coat "yellowing" over time. Could it be that the grill surround was sprayed with a clear and therefore is yellowing?

Not having a problem with the grill surround or fenders yet, but I do have a problem where the lower portion of the door is a different texture and seems to always stain in the same spot and will not come out with soap, water, clay bar, etc. I took it to the dealer and they buffed it out. It's a recurring issue and since the truck is white it stands out. Shouldn't a simple stain from everyday driving come out when washing by hand? It's just weird since its the same spot over and over. I will post pics tomorrow.

Interesting read at tundrasolutions.com thread Truck Foums / Tundra / Defect In Super White Paint. Sounds like it may be related to your spot.

Just bought a white 2013 tacoma. Second guessing myself now. Anybody else notice any of these spots on theirs?

Thanks! I love the white color, but I should of went with something else. I've been to the dealer a few times now for the issue on my door and they are taking my truck to their authorized body shop on monday since they don't have one in house. Hopefully they can fix this issue

Thankfully, Rust-Oleum's plastic/all-surface is a very good match for Super White ;)

Grille shell is factory Super White (bought the grille from Titus-Will).
Inner Satoshi surround is Rust Oleum.

Thanks for the info! Scary! I hope I don't find spots popping up all over the truck. I'll have to watch closely for sure.

Sucks, doesn't it? Is your's on the grill surround only? I just noticed it is also on the parts just below the headlights going from the grill surround to where the fender starts. Hadn't noticed that part before. I'll need to call the dealer and let them know.

Rich, the grill looks good but you need a little flat black behind it now.:D

Got some pics here. I hope I'm able to post them. It's little difficult to see the difference in these shots. Guessing another couple months it will be seriously noticeable.

You can sort of see it on the grill surround as well as the pices that runs under the headlight to the grill.

I went with white because I figured it would be the smart thing to do living in Arizona and with the truck being parked outside most of the time. Now I am wondering if I made the right choice. I thought the white would take the daily beating of the sun much better than any of the other colors. Normally that would be the case, maybe I was wrong. Some of the posts here have me wondering for sure.

Seems like Toyota's overall quality has dropped significantly over the years. Obviously the paint quality has some serious issues. I am a die-hard Toyota fan and would like to see their quality improve. My '87 didn't have any issues.

Got my white one..mentioned the paint problems I've been hearing about. First they told me there was a clear coat on the truck. Then they said if I was worried I should buy some kind of selant from them for $800 and I wouldn't have to wax the car for seven years.
