Finally got my bike a tune up yesterday bc it was shifting on its own... I should be good to go now.

The LBS that I went to had a Giant in there with a $4,000 price tag on it

There are no trails within a 7 hour drive that would need that much bike! haha

nice! im going to start training too. my plan is to start over Christmas break so i get into the rhythm and continue training into the spring/ summer, if i can get a DH bike im going to do the DH race here and then the Super D and perhaps XC race in the summer also local to me. I want to do a few enduro races too but idk where they are up here. Hopefully i will be in shape for the college season next year. and maybe the road season in the spring, which would probably be more likely than getting a DH bike haha

$4000 isnt that bad, I saw a couple 0f $10,000 bikes at my LBS. I dont think I would ever need that much bike though. Hopefully one day.

    The better coast
Check out the cannondale trail series. The entry bike is at 550. Life time frame warranty as well.

If I didn't just buy my road bike I'd pick this one up in a heart beat. Probably over summer ill get one. Then beat the crap out if it and upgrade to what I want in it :p

Here is a link, I was on my phone earlier. http://www.cannondale.com/#bikes_mountain_hardtail

I have been looking into a trail 7, for 550, seems like a decent deal.

Nope. Downhill and free ride bikes are still largely 26". 27.5 are starting to manifest themselves in the all mountain realm tho.

    Niners is an NFL reference

I think that I am going to take a ride tomorrow morning if it is nice out. I got the bike....brought it to work so I want to go out and try out my new Giro gloves and raceface shorts. It is currently 39# outside. I hope that it stays dry and is warm in the am.

im just curious because he is rocking time pedals and mine are beat to shit, the springs are done on the left pedal from what i believe are rock strikes, probably more from low speed in rock gardens but still haha

im thinking of going to shimano m785 or m530 havent decided if i want to pay, does anyone know is weight the only difference, it looks like they both use sealed cartridge bearings so idk

I am hit or miss on my clip pedals, the last time I rode with them I loved them. I have been using them for over 20 years. The new pair I have work really well.
