Didn't like the way they rode. I ended up selling them to a coworker. I'm gonna go a different route

I will get some pics/vids loaded tonight. I was busy yesterday with Christmas Tree hunting and getting some early shopping done.

Should I start a new Thread, or just put them in here? I just want to make sure I follow proper forum etiquette.

Sounds good to me. I will do that tonight.

My stupid video editor program crashed on me last night, and I had to reinstall everything (lost all my previous videos/data )

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
On Saturday (11/24/12), Mike (Chickenmunga), Gary (gdry06), Nate (NatesB2 on Gitout), and myself headed out to TSF to explore some lesser-used trails, and hit some trails that I have never been on. I left Olympia around 6:30am and didn't roll back into town until about 2:00am. Needless to say it was a long-ass day of wheeling for me.

Here are some pictures and videos from the trip.

*Sadly, I didn't get any shots from Rocky Uphill :(. It was completely dark, I was covered in mud, and didn't want to get my cameras all nasty...

Also, my video editor crapped out, and I could not get it re-installed.
I just uploaded the raw video files directly to YouTube, so there is no fancy editing, music, or anything.

Truck Dent: This trail was short and a little out of the way, but pretty fun. There is a relatively steep hill-climb, a few ledges, tank traps, and some decent pits to crawl out of. There are also some good lookouts at the top with impressive views of the surrounding hills.

    Stick In The Nose:
This trail had a fun little rock climb at the beginning which can be tackled from different approaches to increase or decrease difficulty. There is also a fun little rock pile in the middle section (which can be bypassed) and also a little gate-keeper at the end. The rest of the trail was pretty narrow, with some off-camber hills on blind corners that had you questioning where you were gonna end up after cresting the top. There was also an embankment that ran along the passenger-side of the almost the entire trail.

    Firefox
: This trail is sponsored by Warn®. No one in our group had done this before, so we didn't know what to expect. Funny thing is, it's rated 'More Difficult', but it was extremely easy, and judging by the amount of leaves on the trails, it rarely sees any traffic. We were kind of disappointed, but we wanted to give it a try.

Archer's Firebreak: We ran this from West to East, and had plans to connect to Airplane Hill and the Firebreak 5 afterwards. There were (2) sections closed off (I think Section I and J) that we bypassed. This was an awesome trail, I had a lot of fun with the variety of options from each section. This was by far the sloppiest trail we did. Gary and Nate successfully climbed the V-Notch after a few attempts, I gave it a shot and opted not to spend too much time trying to muscle my way up it.

Rocky Uphill: This was the most challenging portion of Archer's that we did. We started at the "staging area" by Can Opener, and by this time it was completely dark.

The first part was a breeze after squeezing through the rock-gate. The second section was not too bad, until we got to the Y. I chose the left and made it up to where to two trails merge back together. After fighting with some slick boulders, and re-approaching numerous times, I ended up sliding completely sideways and getting high-centered. Winched out and moved up the trail. Gary powered through the right side after persuading his truck up some nasty roots and boulders. Nate took the left, and got stuck between two boulders with his rear diff. pinned front and back. We had to construct a make-shift ramp out of rocks, and Gary yanked him up and over the rocks. Mike followed on the right, and after some fighting, ended up going up the left side relatively easily.

The last 20 feet of the trail was very difficult for all of us. It must be a little more rooted than normal, and there was a series of rocks/boulders that seemed to hit all 4 tires at the worst section, causing us to lose our forward momentum and traction simultaneously. No matter how we approached it, the thick clay-mud made us slide into the same tracks every time. In the end Gary and I had to go balls-out to power up it (BRAAAAAP), Nate got winched up after giving it MANY attempts, and Mike also clambered up after a lot of frustrating attempts.

All in all it was a successful day of wheeling for all of us. I was happy to explore more of TSF, and learn more about my truck's capabilities and limitations. I look forward to going back and doing more and more each time (and hopefully get some more people to join).

Awesome pictures and videos Ben! Wish I had a map of TSF. I stopped by the Shell Gas Station Thursday morning when I went with my brother-in-law but it was closed so him and I winged our ways around TSF.

Truck Dent looks fairly enjoyable! I wouldn't mind doing it on the next run to TSF, whenever that is.

Stick in the Nose looks like a pain! What I mean by 'a pain' is it looks very technical. Choose line carefully, can't blow through it etc.

Firefox never heard of it. I also saw another group adopt a trail up there "Flat broke and out 4wheelingor something like that. University Firepower is the trail they adopted I believe. I was almost tempted to do the power line trails the whole time when I went to see what other trails we could run in to but we had to cut it short.

Looks like you guys had a hell of a day, wish I could make it to a Washington trip with you guys one of these days. I've always wanted to try Naches, waayyy before when I first got in to 4wheeling in my TTORA days, it always intrigued me.

    cool!

the map that is overlaid seems to be an older one may not be the most up to date but it really is nice to be able to see where everything is. what we have done was added all our GPS way points in as well that way you can have all your camping spots marked. i am not sure how many of you guys use google earth but check it out.
