Alot of dealers use lube techs and not a real line/ASE tech to work on the vehicles and they are closer to your rookies that you see at jiffy lube and such.

Each dealer varies a bit on this.

Sometimes you could get a real line tech if you are having other work done on your ticket but typically if it is only for an oil change you get a lube tech. This is so they can run oil changes as fast as jiffy lube and keep customers coming in and add on additional services when the writer looks at the truck briefly and makes a decision based on mileage in all reality.

I like the ( Tech )added to a title to make it sound important

Have to agree anyone that is ASE certified has earned the term TECH!!

I took my truck to the dealer last year todo an oil change when I got it back I always pop my hood and to check everything is on and one time I did this and found a water Bottle under my hood I showed it to the service guy and I ended up getting a free oil change. Ever since then I do my own oil changes.

I'd check your oil level while your under the hood. They seemed to have been rushed and may not have added the right amount of oil.

At least you know that they changed the filter

My Taco is the first car I've ever taken to the dealer for service as the 2/24k maintenance was included with the truck. I still check the filter to be sure it was changed and the oil is topped off. Dealers seem to screw up just as much as those lube places.

I just had my second oil change and tire rotation at Toyota with no issues.

However, I am on the lookout for shoddy service, thanks to posts here.

They are sending me a tow truck and rental in the morning.

They will also be doing a full detail service, inside and out on the truck, free of charge. They just don't know that yet.

Whenever I change oil on something with a 1gr, I always hold a small cup down there so it's not too big to wedge in there and I can't forget it. Some people are just sloppy.

Well Toyota picked up the truck today. They are changing the Alternator belt and alternator. Doing a motor flush and changing the oil since the hose was off sucking in crap for about a week. Then it will get a full detail inside and out.

Have a 2012 loaner Tacoma now while they iron this all out. Still pretty upset about all this.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Yeah they are, they've treated my Dad well with his Accord. Honda Powersports had treated me really good as well, but I do all my service on my atv.
