Went for a walk up the creek with my wife today to look for more signs of spawning salmon

Hey Pete, do they restrict/cancel salmon seasons up there too?

 

Just one coho down in front of my house ( it's at the creek mouth ) , that prompted the walk up to the gravel beds but I didn't see any more , I'm going to keep a watch over the next couple days

The little creek by my house is pretty tiny and the fish were fry released by a Salmonid Enhancement Society so it's pretty cool to see them come back .

I've lived here for 17 years and only seen fish occasionally , I usually miss the run and there is usually only 10-20 fish

Sockeye was cancelled last year here

 

I think at one point only the Indians were allowed to fish

Alot of it was limited to just the indians.. the salmon have made a big come back in the upper sacramento and the russian river, the russian river you couldn't fish for the last couple years not sure if you can now.. I think you still cant keep any coho's if you get one.

 

It was the soho that really crashed IIRC

 

Yep.. I still like to go steelhead fishing up north and trout fishing in the lakes here and up in the hills above fresno

From last year when Lenie and I went up to courtright up in the southeren sierras above Fresno
