I keep getting emails from our "Eric" and it's always title "siu". It's always spam. Eric and I don't email each other, we always use the phone.

What can I do to stop this? I always flag them as spam but they still come.

My dad recently bought a Nikon D5100 that I've been messing around with. Such an upgrade from the camera we've been using for over ten years.

Its a hobby. I've made some money off it. A couple weddings but only because they begged me to do it.

    I haven't updated this much.

I've *never* found a car stereo/car alarm install joint I've been impressed with. As always, the best answer for a high quality job is DIY.

i was told that car alarm install is extremely difficult, and i can't find any write up on it.

I can imagine some kid in the shop telling you that. But then, he's not seen the vast and extensive mods that have been taken on by TW members. For instance, HID projector retrofit is extremely difficult - and yet TW members have done it successfully.

Unlike nearly every other mod - this is probably the one mod that folks who've done it are least interested in sharing by posting a photo write-up that would end up detailing exactly where they've placed the components that would need to be disarmed in order to steal or break in to the vehicle.

So you're going to have to end up doing a little more creative assembly from a slightly less cookbook approach. Nevertheless, resources are out there to help the DIYer.

    and

All that said - I talk a good game and I've installed a couple car stereos, a HAM radio, a CB. But never a car alarm. But I wouldn't shy away from doing a car alarm if I wanted one.

EDIT: Also search car alarm install/car alarm installation on youtube.

things are only difficult if you want to go from step 1 to ffff in one fell swoop.

Honestly though, just planning out the process makes things a lot easier. It may seem like a lot of steps, but they're there to help you from becoming lost. Plus if you DIY, you'll know what's broken. I've had a couple of friends who were car audio and alarm installers and sometimes they'd break stuff on a new car they've never worked on before, happens a lot. It also happens occasionally when you're just try to get the job done as quickly as possible.

A lot of these guys at the shops will be working on these vehicles from memory and sometimes will forget a screw or a clip and rip something out by accident damaging mount points or what not. Their managers will simply instruct them to "fix it" which means glue and tape to keep stuff in place. The customer won't know, but the installer will. To their credit, they did great jobs 99% of the time. It's just that 1 job out of every 100 that gave them trouble.

If you DIY, you have time to put wires in by soldering them in and then sealing with heat shrink tubing and measuring the wires out to precisely what you need.

The shops will generally use wire splicers and either end up with having too short of a wire (it's tight and will wiggle out eventually, and yes, that's what she said) or too long of one jiggling around making noise while you drive.

If you DIY inexperienced, you'll do a poor job the first time, learn a lot, and then do really great the next time around, and it'll never fail. Of course, if you do an install party, offer some beers and some king eggroll, I'm sure some folks will show up with loads of experience on how to do an install properly and be more than ecstatic to impart wisdom and knowledge to you.

Tools may show up as well.

hmm, would anyone be interested in starting a so to speak public but invite only google calendar for events, either that or a facebook group?

this way we can do install/hangout/meet/BS/travel/camping events a little more official on events and coordinate king eggroll, tools, and beer.

however, we still retain the ability to ban people incase they turn out to be creepers.
