Tech/Shop Manuel Taco 4X4 SR5-TRD Sport 2009

Hi there!

Do you have any idea where I could find a tech/shop manuel for my 2009 taco trd sr5 sport?
Called my dealer and he said those manuel weren't made since 2000(paper version of course!).
He said the techs at the garage only use the electronic one in the computer.

Any version would be good for me, the paper one, as well as the electronic one like PDF or anything. Free or not.

Always had shop manuel for my other vehicles before.

I have checked chiltons and haynes and was not able to find one. I am still looking for one for my wife's '01 Outback. I am starting to see some that may have it in it but they do not specifically say for outbacks.

My guess is it will be several years before they put one out for the '09s.

 

Any '05+ Factory Service Manual should do you pretty well....

I called about the factory shop manuals for my wife's '09. They are available the parts guy didn't look hard enough. There are 4 manuals: electrical, service, body, and engine maintenance. They weren't cheap, for all 4 manuals the going price was around $600.

 

you can download the 05 to 08 manuals here......link is in the cheap/free mods thread at the top of the page. most of it will work for the 09 too.

I've seen the links, I appreciate the info. I probably still end up buying the paper manuals though, one or two at a time, kinda hard to take the desktop out to the garage, yeah I know I could print what I need. But computers take a dump, the internet goes down usually when I'm in the middle of a repair, Murphy's Law. Call it peace of mind or going ole school it's nice to have bound manuals on the shelf.

 

I'll check again with another guy and try to buy a few of them (I'd rather have paper too!)

The phone call took like 10 minutes, the poor parts guy at my local Toyota dealership really had to dig through his system to find it. Keep in mind I've got a 4 banger 2wd access cab, shouldn't make a whole lot of difference but you never know. Even the parts dude was a little shocked at the prices.

 

They always act surprised- I had to pay 150 bucks per gas piston for the liftgate on my scion. The chick was like "Oh Wow...That's STEEP"...Like she'd never seen anything like that before....PFFFTTTT...LIES!!

If you want paper copies- Print out the section you need as you need them and staple them together....It's free...and you will rarely use the majority of those sections that you pay for...imho.

 

I must just be a tech nerd then, I paged through every volume of my porsche 914 shop manuals, all 8 of them. Made for some interesting reading about how autos were maintained in the '70's. I page through the owner's manuals, I like to know what all the flashy lights do.

 

Yeah..owners manuals are one thing..Thse are good to read. The FSMs are goos to read if you have the time...but normally-You won't need the majority of stuff in there....and I would say it worth 300-600 dollars to leaf thru it once or twice...ya know??

 

You're right, I should've just print'em out, but I'm a bit like sweater914, like to have the "real" thing too, even if it's a bit pricey!

I liked having the ones I used....but there were FAR too many that never got opened. And when they cost 200+...To not read them...I'd rather buy beer with that.
To each their own tho!!

 

I feel your pain, I know they're expensive, but having "the bible" to throw down in front of the service writer is priceless especially if they're giving you shit. Part numbers are invaluable when trying to find the factory parts. I like my beer and my white russians.

 

I used a firefox plugin called "download it all". It downloads all links on a website. It took about 30 mins but it downloaded all pdf files to my PC. Now one day I will be board at work and print everything and put it in a binder.

I am worried some day someone will be ordered to remove these files from their web site.
