Not sure who they are, assuming they are the Mujahideen. If so, they were an ally against our enemy, it's fair game. They were critical in the 80's. It's a common misconception to assume they later became the Taliban. That's not true. This is business. Unlike the 80's, in today's policital spectrum, everything you do, say and associate with will be visible instantly. The POTUS should be more careful.

No, fractions of the Mujahideen did eventually split away and become the Taliban and fought against each other in teh 80's and 90's. If was a failure of teh US to stop funding teh Mujahideen after the war. If they kept the aid flowing they could have helped support a legitimate Gov't and not allow the Taliban to take power. What you are trying to prove is that past administrators have been associated with bad guys. That is true, but it's not till later when that was realized as a mistake. With regards to the POTUS and Psy, his comments were known in the past yet he still shook his hand. The Rumsfeld pic was taken in 78? This was all before we realized who Hussein really was.

Charles Lindberg was a huge fan of Nazi armanent and technology. He made several comments about how teh US should follow their lead in some areas. He was even awarded a distinguished civilian award from Herman Goering. This was all before 1939.
