Just like the title states. The dealer said my TPMS sensors aren't communicating with the system even after a reset. I have the platinum warranty, would this be covered? I can't find the info online or in my stupid little warranty packet. Just thought someone would know.

    Thanks.

They should be covered. They are not a wear item.

Maybe yes/maybe no. TPMS sensors have batteries, and since you have an 08 it may be one or more batteries died (life is suppose to be around 5 years give or take) - don't know if platinum warranty covers or not, and on the other hand, may be something besides batteries, which MAY be covered.

Take it to a tire shop. How does the dealer know that they are not working?

Long story short, I had it in there after 6 other visits to get spacer/wheel/tire issue worked out. After I got everything finally squared away, TPMS light came on. Took it in to be "reset" and they told me its more of an issue than that and I need to take it to the dealership I bought it from (an hour drive away). Figured I could just make them fix it if it was covered. But being my first "new-ish" vehicle with a warranty it's new to me to have a dealer fix something free of charge. Also new to the tire pressure sensors.

I would just take it to discount or tire shop that deals with TPMS sensors I remember when I worked at Toyota I would replace the sensors and then hook up computer to the OBD and reprogram take maybe about 5min to dismount the wheel from tire to switch the sensor out and maybe another 5minutes to reprogram the sensor to the computer and charge the customer 1.2hours!

Get the dealership that's been working on the spacer/wheel/tire issue to fix it... sounds like they damaged one.

It flashes when turning on the truck then goes solid after ~30 seconds.

Thanks for the suggestions. I just was thinking if they are covered, I can go to a dealer close to me and get it fixed for free. Save time and hassle.
