I coach high school soccer and after our game tonight I saw a bunch of players and students around my truck. As I approached it I saw something white on my hood and windshield. Come to find out my truck was egged!!! I immediately called my principal who had left campus but promised to look at the surveillance in the morning. I took pictures of everything then rushed to the nearest car wash. I did the best I could but there are some spots where the egg ate through the clear (or seems to look like it because its night) and left swirls. My question is, is there anything to remove the swirls,,,, clay bar, wax??? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Ps I will get one of the staff members or students to help me post the pictures.

I doubt that egg will damage the clear coat. Maybe it just needs more washing and then clay bar. The shell might cause scratches so I hope that it was carefully sprayed off before sending the truck through the car wash.

It was one of those older style car washes that has a power sprayer, which I used, before hitting it with the soap brush... I tried rubbing the crap out of it with my hand once I used the sprayer to get everything in and around the grille before the soap brush. I think I spent $10 and 30 minutes going over the areas that got hit before going over the entire truck... Just I case I missed anything else.

The egg will screw up the paint. A few years ago someone hit my car with an egg and I had to get it sanded and repainted on that fender.

Google this: "what does egg do to clearcoat"

Seems the key is to remove it as soon as possible. Any idea how long is was on your truck, was it still wet, or had it dried out?

I'd say about an hour, maybe less. Parts of the egg were still very wet compared to other spots but none of it was baked.

First reaction was to head to the car wash... Removed most of it by just spraying it, then rubbed it off with hand since i didnt have a rag, lastly used the soap brush.

It's not the actual egg and yolk that does the damage. It's the impact of the shell on the paint, the shell actually scratches and dings the paint job. It happened to me and there are still marks to this day. You would need to do what the above post suggests, sand and re paint. Your screwed.

    dry egg does harm.
    wet egg, probably not.

but the soap brush did the damages you are seeing.

go crack an egg over your vehicle and let it bake in the sun for a bit, tell me the egg and yolk dont do damage

Actually I have tried that on an old beater car, and that shit buffs out. It's the impact spots that screw you.

I never ever use a car wash, always wash it at home. But in this case it was the first thing that came to mind because of it drying up. And how the hell was I suppose to know the soap was going to make it worse? Like I said I rubbed/washed most of it off with hand and sprayer.

Eggs WILL ruin the clear coat if they're on there long enough. It happened to my first truck. The shell will chip the paint as well. And the brush at a car wash would swirl the paint if it was dirty (and it probably was).
