I think most are plasti dipping them. I water transfer print mine. Hydrographics some call it. Good auto uv clears used to seal them.

I wouldn't say it lasts forever but it is definitely an easy way to do it

put a few coats of spray paint followed by a few of clear and they'll look OEM and won't fade.

They have oem badges that dealerships sell for like $25 a piece. They come out in BSP, I saw a member with a set forsale in the marketplace. I prolly would have bought them if my truck wasn't BSP. Plasti-dip was easy, I didn't have to pull them off and redo it but I think I might because after a while its turning brown on me.

My uncle (has a 2011 OR) and I were ridiculously nervous the day I plasti dipped my emblems on the truck. One of those things you hate to see, but can't walk away from. It ended up peeling off like the thread said and looked good. That's been four months and several washings with no peeling, for a $7 investment, and an opportunity to go back to original.

All XRunner badges are available in the two black colors Toyota used for the truck over the years. But the SR5, Prerunner, V6 badges were not used on the XRunners so are not available from the factory in black.

So I've got a question - has anyone tried, or heard of trying, to texturize their badges? I got a crazy idea to maybe spray some of the Herculiner Bed Liner onto the badges once I've finished painting them black... but I have no clue if it would look good or not, and to be honest, I'm kinda chicken to try it out. I'll probably end up doing it anyway, but if anyone has ever heard of that, please let me know what they've used to get that textured look...
