It's not really "needed" per se, I havent heard of cases where the truck pulls because of the misalignment; but a lot of us have gotten some vibes at higher speeds

but most of us ignore that, since we don't really care....

In the end it's up to you

I'm getting uca's on in a few weeks so I can get rid of the vibes (hopefully) and take another step towards MT. But it's not really necessary.

Yessir exact same problem, you know if we can just put some more grease or just slide the boot over a little?

Shoot I don't know. I know you could if you took the cv shafts out. But with them still connected I don't know. My inner boots are the ones slinging grease.

Does a diff drop even help on these trucks with the angles?

I drove on stock UCAs for almost a year before installing the Camburg uniball UCAs. It is true, you can attain a "good enough" alignments without them but I eventually got sick of the touchy steering caused by a low caster setting. Toe and camber were fine but it is impossible to get a high enough caster setting after lifting without aftermarket UCAs.

    Yes

Not always. The inner boots can still throw grease even after the boot slide. Just ask Ben (m3bassman).

Haha thats funny, I dont use 4wd enough to do all this but lately I have been(random wheeling) probably gonna do the boot slide but not a diff drop, If the boots havent torn after a whole year at 3-1/4 of lift up front i dont think they will soon ( knock on wood )

I already have a 2.5" lift on mine but its just a spacer on the front. Im thinking about investing in some toytec coilovers on the front and the bilstein 5100 on the back. would this be a good setup?

Mine has settled a bit since that picture, that one was taken right after I rolled it out of the garage.
