Because its not just bolting them on. That was actually the easy part. The hard part is drilling thru the fucking frame... There are like two layers of metal to drill through, the first layer is like drilling through a tin can, but the second layer is like friggin carbide steel. It's hard to get leverage on a drill from on your back, and after about two holes the drill bit goes dull and takes twice as long to go through. If you are going to drill the frame and take the long way, make sure you wear gloves, I didn't and now have metal splinters in my hands and they fucking hurt if I so much as move them.... I didn't get all the bolts on them, I'm going to take it somewhere and tell them to weld them... Will be much easier to pay 100 bucks than deal with that shit.

So much anger first thing in the morning. I know what you mean when I do any overhead drilling or drill upward from my back, I set up a couple of 2x4s to act as a lever. My plan is to get them bolted on and work on the frame drilling in better weather and also alittle at a time. Alot of people have said the same thing about the bits dulling quickly. Stupid question gut did you buy good quality bits and did you lube them while drilling

They were the gold plated bits, I didn't lube them which was a problem I think. My drill is awesome, but I think it got too hot towards the end because it kept slipping on the bit when you put pressure on it... Making
More of a pain in the ass. Yea the shitty cold weather wasn't any help, I froze my ass off. I'm just gonna leave those bolts in and take it somewhere to get welded... I'm not in a rush though, I got all the bottom
Bolts and one side bolt on each side, the bolts are good for like 30k lbs so it'll work for now.

I know it's a little late for this advice, but drilling a 1/4 pilot hole, then using a step bit with oil is much easier. I used to work at a place that installed gooseneck hitches in full size trucks, so I was drilling frames all the time

Yea that's what I did... I used a small bit and just used bigger ones until it was the right size. Still sucked ass. There is nothing easy about it.

Drilling slow and using lube is suposed to help. Im sure it is still a pain in the ass. I say this now but when i am doing it i will probably be going full throtle pushing as hard as i can lol. If the bit gets to hot it will dull quicker. They look good mike, i also like the gray

Not bigger bits, a step bit. It reams the hole until it gets to the size you need and doesnt dull like a regular bit because its cutting with more surface area. Something like this

I really like Harbor Freight for just that reason. They make it fairly easy for people like me to get my hands on what would otherwise be a very expensive tool. All the stuff I've bought from them in the past has held up very well also. I've purchased a bunch of woodworking tools from them and abused the hell out of them during the renovation.
