dunno, it might look good (if its the exact same width then yes, i'd put it right under the "2.7" badges) but got a feeling it could be emblem overload though...

btw, i got the 2.7L badges yesterday (haven't stuck them on yet until i do the proper prepping, i.e measuring to make sure they're symmetrical and properly aligned on either side, plus I gotta wash my truck first...)

a couple early pics to show scale/size:

    2iqibn_a10fbe9f82e836e54c80814109337df3f9780432.jpg

    2nbaybs_2709e38189b965f7f55b56bb516ff9e399babd75.jpg

^ shows roughly the location where i wanna stick them on, (this is right above driver's side front fender & yes, i'm just holding it up so it might look crooked)

i think its a nice subtle accent, just the right size & not too bombastic

I think it looks good OP. Im a de-badged man myself but it looks good and subtle.

i say rock it man. I got the 4.0 but hell if my parents bought me a 2.7 i'd rock it just as well!

Maybe put the VVT-I on the rear if your putting the 2.7L on the fenders?

What's not to brag about? We get better mileage, our engines are proven to last longer, the small 4 banger Toyota truck is what made Toyota famous, etc...

Haha. A V8 i think would be a little much for these vehicles :p

    Whats the point of a stronger engine, with a v6 or 4-banger body/suspension :p

First of all it's 4wd, and second of all, yes it is. This 4.0 wins mid size truck awards left and right, sure as hell ain't the 2.7 :p if I wanted something underpowered and embarrassing to drive I would have got a ford focus or something....

The Toyota 4cyl 4x4 truck is legendary. It is what has set the standard way before they put the 6cyl in there. It will go anywhere the V-6 will on any given day. Your just embarrassing yourself at this point. :p

It will not, let's hook a 6500lb trailer and see where that little sun fire engine gets you....so, you're wrong....and theoretically the 6 should last longer since there's less wear in each cylinder....

haha me? I've never owned a first gen. I've had two second gens and a Pickup, but no first gen Tacoma. Although I'd like to some day. I like them quite a bit, and would definitely get the . . . wait for iiiiiiiiiiiit . . . 2.7 :D

EDIT: just saw you removed your secondary air filter :) confused are we? that only helps a wee bit with a, wait for it, 4 banger.

There are those who understand their application and get things that are functional, and those who dont understand function > fashion.

Im right there with you, Lets see im 30. and still driving my 2nd truck ever.
first had an 88 Pickup with the 22R with over 200k. and now my 2000 Taco with the 3RZ 2.7L which also have over 200k on it. I can tow the stuff I need to tow. haul the stuff I need to haul. and still did not pay 30k for a truck I didnt need.

and no major modifications to the motor or drivetrain. Only thing that was been upgraded is the Gears, After blowing the stock 4.30s Crawling. and the drive shaft.

You've never even driven a 2.7, they are not underpowered as all you V6 guys think they are. Focuses aren't underpowered either.

Precisely, I read about a guy that had 629k on his first gen 4 cylinder truck, still was running fine.
