They are only technically behind the passenger and driver seats, but you can use each inner latch for the seat safely in the middle. They are close enough.

Wow! Good growing baby! I take it the little one eats well? My nephew was over 8 lbs at birth but lost a pound over the next month. They said it wasn't that unusual for a newborn to lose a little weight, but it sure wouldn't make me happy. If my girl is anything like me, eating won't be an issue!:D

Ok, I see how you did it. Either way the added space seems like a good idea.

Were using a Chicco Keyfit Cortina Travel system. Very nice and top rated by consumer reports.

I have the Gracco Snugride 30. We went with the 30 because it is a little smaller and fits in most of the airlines tiny little seats. As a nice coincidence, it fits fairly well in a Tacoma. It comes in a billion colors and designs. When the wife saw the Minnie Mouse Edition, the hunt was over. Its well rated and not too over-priced. Seriously though, Baby's R Us will usually let you take the display models out to your truck to see how they fit. Its worth the effort when spending this kind of money. Gotta make sure Mom is happy!!

I can't believe we are having this conversation here on TW.

Yeah Babies R Us also let us take the display models out to see which fit well and how easy it would be to install or change into another vehicle easily. We found that the ones with the self tightening clicky things were easiest for swapping, the more manual clipping and tightening seemed like it would get old quick.

We went with the same system, fits well in the middle of the rear seat.

Nice thing is that you can get extra bases for the rear facing seat. We had the all-in-one set (stroller, seat, base) and bought extra bases for the wife's car and the grandparents car.

My little guy is 16 months now and is tall and he's in a forward facing seat now. That fits easily behind the drivers or passenger seat (we went with behind the drivers seat).

Because the truck rear seats are more vertical than a regular car seat you do have to make sure the seat is latched in really tight to get a good fit. Putting all of my 215 lbs fat ass weight on the seat then tightening down the latches does the trick just fine. :)

Has helped me out a bit. But, the wife knows what she wants... So I don't get a whole lot of say in it anyway. Just more "do this, do that"s from her...

A little something I have learned. Take some initiative! Pick one of the must do projects and get it done without her telling you to do it. It makes your wife feel better. Plus, in the end, you were going to end up doing it anyway!! I painted and put the nursery together when she was 3 months pregnant. Now I don't have to hear "YOU DON'T REALLY WANT THIS BABY!!!"

I have never heard that at least. Plus I am waiting for her to decide what color she wants the room. We just started getting a lot of the stuff this past month. I just need to re-paint the crib we got... about it.

I "helped" her pick the colors. Just fake it.:D I actually went over board though. I suggested the colors and added chair rail that she hadn't thought of. Now she is very happy with the room.... and I get bonus points!
