But it'd be a good excuse to buy some offroad lights to put up front

Yeah, for me, once I hit highway 1 it was a solid 16 hours of driving to get the rest of the way there.

yep. i hope to have a custom roof rack with a 20” rigid on it by this time next year. first i have to buy a welder.

also have plains for when i have a front bumper, instead of using the stock fogs i want to get the amber rigid Dually’s or the amber D2’s and only use them in bad weather, right now my fogs are on any time my head lights are.

also plain on having 3 or 4 round off road lights on the hoop on the front bumper. reason that roof rack will have LED bar is to keep a lower profile and less wind drag. i wont use it a hole lot, i really want it for lights, but instead of just a bar for light i like the look of a roof rack and good use of unusable space. i may get used 3 or 4 times a year if that. mostly just road trips to NY to see family.

edit: roof rack will look about like this http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/83342-roof-rack-poll-8.html#post5809003

I've been looking at the amber Duallys as well for fog lights. I saw them flush mount them into the bumper of an F-150 on their website. I really like that idea.

And as far as a light bar, I just got a 21'' bar from blitzpro and cannot wait to mount it. I like the idea of putting it on my roof rack but since it's just a big flood light I think it'd be better to have it closer to the road so it isn't reflecting off my hood so much.

yeah, and the amber color is better in heavy snow and rain at night.
i want a spot led bar, and other lights will be more of a flood. also may have duallys kinda facing 45 degrees to the side on the roof rack. most the trails around here have some tight turns and i can’t see around them. so i need lights kinda facing the side.

i’m watching buying alaska right now.

also what kinda hunting season you guys have? deer? what kinda small game? bear?

Black bear, Grizzly bear, deer, caribou, moose, lots of ducks as well. I don't hunt at all so I'm not the one to ask. I'm sure someone else will chime in.

oh nice. i grew up doing a little bit of both. i know you guys have some nice trout. their is a trout river like 5 min a way. i go and fish all the time. i just catch and release tho. some times i’ll go to the lake and fist or cats’ or bass. i don’t really like fish all that much. i been squirrel hunting since i was 10. went deer hunting for the 1st time at 12, but did not really get into it till i was about 15. i maybe going deer hunting with dad this weekend, if not i’ll go squirrel hunt by my self.(i deer hunt a little over 1h away, and don’t go by my self. but squirrel hunting i don’t mind going my self.

and whats bowinkie? never heard that before.

omg now i remember it. all tho not very well.. i’m 20 so iremeber tom and jerry the most i still watch that all the time:eek::cool:

and we don’t have moose. we do have some elk that they have reestablished.(most are from some islend from canada i think. and it’s really hard to get a pass to hunt them for about 4 years now they have gave out 5 a year. and you only have like 4 days to use it. for the first time this year they gave out 6th permit and it was a youth only permit. they would like to have a real full season on them, but they just don’t have the numbers/ heard they want to have before they make a season that anyone can hunt.

My brother made the drive from Anch to Alabama. He took a few weeks to do it and visited with some people along the way.

I did it but I was out west, not in the south. It's definitely an experience!

You'd definitely get to see a lot of the country! I'm trying to make it to all 50 states in the next few years. I'm at 36 right now :D
