    What he said!

On Saturday, I had my first "mile high run" as a Denver returning resident. It was a hard run 5.4 miles in 51:07. I tried to run on Sunday, and my legs said "hell no!".

So I went mountain biking instead, at a trail just outside my apartment complex. I'll run 4 miles there tonight, with a headlamp, of course. It gets pich black right before 5 pm around here, which I knew, but didn't quite remember! :O

Thanks guys. It was definitely a challenge.

I'm sure I'd be sucking wind for the first couple of runs if I transitioned to somehere higer than 50' above sea level. :) That's a pretty good pace for your first run back.

Have already done three runs @ this altitude... And man it's hard. I love that when I get back to FL, LA, OK and TX for races, I'll kick ass!

High altitude training for the win! ;)

I've done 4 runs since moving back to the "Mile High City", and averaging 9:30 splits on ANY run is the best I can do... I was here in September and within 3 days I was averaging sub 8:30's! Not depressed about it, but it sure is starting to bother me...

think how fast you'll be back in Florida! :D

I pulled back a little this week, 32.5 miles (closing in on 1500 for the year) Wed 6, Thurs 8.5, Sat 6, Sun 12

my Sunday run was a little frosty, 14F w/ about a 8 mph breeze, but can't complain too much as the snow under foot was soft and the sun was shining

Ran 5 miles on 25 degrees and the right sciatica started acting up. It was the toughest/least enjoyable 5 miles I've ran in a LONG TIME! :(

I have no idea what I've ran. I run a lot of charity runs in Denver ranging from 3-10k. I also ran half of the colfax marathon.
Now that I'm in the army I just run on my free time. My next duty station however has a 10 mile team that competes every year with the major general as team captain. I hope to join once I get there.

He finished in 47 mins I believe. I can't seem to find the article right now though.

My last event was in April just before I left for GA. Only timed run I've had is my 2 mile for my PT test right around 12 flat. That's after pushups and situps so I'd imagine I'm faster with just a straight run. I also can't stand running on a track.

SHIT my knees are acting up. Really bummed. Took some time off and tried running 4 miles last night after work, had to walk home the last mile. Gonna take a three or four days off and try to work in a little biking, then try a short run.

^ sorry to hear that- lots of icing!

not sure where on your knee it hurts, but might want to check into IT band- common running knee injury, there are some really good stretches to help combat it

Yeah its the front of my knees. I dont think it is serious. I think I am over striding, I went to a running injury prevention discussion the other night and they gave me some things to work on as well as strengthening my hip abductor muscles.

I ran 24.5 miles this week. Most of them @ Bear Creek Lake Park, just minutes from my home.

The sciatica has been giving me problems since my last half, and it started to bug me, as now matter how often I stretch/exercise it, its definitely slowing me down.

I'm taking glucosamine and bromelain, but is not really working!:(
