Those new CARB approved gas cans are the biggest bunch of shit I have ever seen! Makes absolutely no difference in the amount of vapor lost in adding fuel. It awesome how laws just come out of nowhere with no real testing to see if it really has any validity whatsoever, which it doesnt.

I mean your fucking gas cap is off! The fine is $175 PER CAN if caught, extortion by the Govt, just so some douche and the Govt (from ticket revenue) can make some money. It not about the environment, its about lining pockets of asshats.

Dont ask me how I really feel, lol. I just am appalled at what is being done to the general public. Eventually everything will be illegal.

Maybe I should make some sort of Charcoal thing that goes on your vent to make any can "CARB" approved. Should be an option right? I really dont have a half an hour to add 5 gallons of fuel, lol. Those cans are soooooo slow. Would be faster to add fuel 1 mouthfull at a time, haha!

Basically the same response I got from a buddy who is a CHP Semi-truck inspector.

Ya I may be selling the rotopax items, just not sure when, I need to get together with Tyler and see if he can make a mount for the NATO Cans.

Well thats good news, there was some guy in the motorcycle shop when I was there saying he got a ticket for one at $175, but I dont know the details or if he was Full of it. Due to your post I am leaning toward the full of it option.

    Good to know!

Desert tank! But since your buying a brand new bike they are probably not availalble yet for that one.

Or just buy an older used one that you can get parts for and save a bunch of cash! That thing is going to be like riding a moped for you, I still think you should get an XL650 instead, thats the perfect bike for you for sure.

The 250 is really weak and slow, especially on the road, that thing is going to absolutely suck on the freeway. Hope I dont sound like a jerk, just trying to convince you to go another way just because I am a bike guy, and think you would be better suited for a bigger bike your not going to outgrow too soon (meaning your used to it and it feels like not enough power to you).

Is there a particular reason you picked that bike?

Ya I'm really just lookin for a trail bike that can go on the road legally. It costs about 4k brand new and from what I've been reading is reliable. I also like the idea of fuel injection.

I have an 06 Honda CRF 250x and I feel like its super underpowered on some of the flat dirt roads. I can't even imagine it on the street, with a full Pro Circuit Exhaust and it rejetted it maxes out around 65. I can't really compare my bike with a dual sport but if I was you I would go with at least a 450 if you plan on doing street driving.

The XL650 is also VERY reliable, and can be had for under that price and you can get a big tank for it, and FI on dirtbikes isnt all its cracked up to be, I bought my Honda 450 and got the last year of carbed bike due to all the problems the FI bikes were having.....

I bet within 2 months your gonna hate that thing. Being only a single cylinder bike I would opt for something bigger and I am a midget.

    All comes down to price.

I have no plans of highway driving.

Just something to hit trails and backroads

My buddy has he drz 400 and the big brother 650. I don't ride a whole lot anymore but when were out I always prefer the 400, the 650 seems awful big and heavy in the dirt, especially the soft stuff. That's just the opinion of a guy that's inexperienced, maybe it will help you with your decision, maybe not. I think anything smaller than a 400 would be a mistake though.

Well if I get a drz do anyone have experience shaving a seat? Lol I want a lower seat height but I'd rather not mess with lowering links

    Now your talkin.

I agree, but the 650 aint that bad, I used to have one and rode that sucker everywhere!! Just takes a little seat time to get used to it.

I can take care of ya, I have 3 bikes and all have shaved seats, I have a 30" inseam, lol. Plus my wifes bike as well, she has the CRF250X.
