There are stupid things like that on those cars, but they have to keep coming up with stupid crap so that their cars have more stupid crap than the other company. One cool thing is little LEDs under the door handles. one stupid thing is the "soft close" option. You can just barely shut the doors and a motor will close it all the way for you. Useless.

Yeah shit like that is stupid, just adds costs and 1 more thing to break. My dad has a Lincoln SUV and it's the same way. Always something wrong with it. I think he's getting rid of it, he hates it.

That's what makes 'em luxury cars. And like you said, cost of ownership can be rough. I told my brother he was an idiot if he decided to buy his X3 after lease. Then he asked me if $300 was a normal price for an oil change when his first one was due. Nope, oh wait, looks like it is for a BMW, have fun with that.

Yeah Lincoln is just another over-designed Ford. The engineers had to put some electronic floorboards and heated steering wheels in them to convince the high roller he needs to drive the Lincoln.

Don't want to offend anyone with what I'm going to say, but I figured I'd get my word out:
Personally, I think modern-day unions are ridiculous and out of control. They may have been necessary back in the day, when they were used to protect workers from the fat cat(s) trying to work the dog piss out of them in poor and unsafe conditions/impossible hours. But these days, unions are far more commonly used by the workers to demand more for little or no reason. Unions promote laziness, because union members know that they don't have to really work hard to keep their jobs, because if their job is threatened, they can just bitch to the union. I'm not accusing every union member of abusing the system, don't get me wrong. Just saying it happens a lot- enough for it to have become a real problem. And oftentimes, (as we have seen recently with Hostess,) Unions' unnecessary/impractical actions/demands lead to a decline in productivity, closing of companies, outsourcing, and a lack of twinkies.

Yeah if you learn how to DIY its not terribly bad. My sister has a 98 ML320 and it takes like 8 quarts of full synth. The filters are pretty high too but are pretty easy and not messy to change out because they are Cartridges.

Yeah I think that's why they were still paying him. Even though they "lost" still think it was pretty cool fact.

Yeah the Lincoln is a POS. My Dad is so embarrassed by it. He drives his 2000 Tahoe instead.

1st day of my JR yr in HS my English teacher said, I made 3 mistakes in life, I got married, I had kids and I became a teacher. He was terrible, blindly graded papers, gave random grades out. He was like that for my brother 4 yrs before and ppl I knew 4 yrs later. He was always reported for making comments to students, swearing, being a POS in general. But there was nothing they could do. What's sad is there are 1000's of young adults that want to teach in PA (its a good state to teach) but can't cuz once you're in, you're in for life. No matter how bad you are.

    Thank you kindly!

Another good point- absolute prats and lummoxes take up the spaces that more-promising employees could take. You're exactly right.

No, your statement has no point. It would be like saying, private employees have the right to drive 55 mph, but not so to govt employees.

That you fail to see the absurdity of your post shows a complete lack of understanding of basic rule of law.

    actually...

my post was not about law. (be it drinking, or speed limits)

It was about tax payers funding government workers, who fund public unions, who help elect politicians, who negotiate for compensation for those who elected them...

and the possibable corruption that could occur (and probably does)

you twice injected non issues pertaining to my post, or the thread. as I posted...if you don't want to engage my point, that is fine.

    and this vvv

I was trying to prove that it is not a new phenomena. He never tracked any data to prove his point. Furthermore, why is that TX, CA, FL and the rest of the sunbelt are gaining seats in congress, while the Midwest is not?
