New shocks with AAL

    Ok me and the search function are about to have a fight, rather than me saying to hell with it i figure i would ask the minds of TW. Im throwing some ideas around right now for a lift so I can start saving some cash. First off im looking at the Revtek 3 inch lift that includes the coil spacers in the front and the AAL in the rear. I feel this is the best option for me at this moment seems like a decent product and affordable. (although if anyone else has suggestions please contribute.) But my real question in with a 3 in AAL will I need longer shocks in the rear? The link to the exact lift kit is

    never mind maybe if i would have read the description a little more carefully i would have see that it said does not require replacement shocks. but still interested in what other lift configurations and or companies i could go with that would be around the same $300 mark or less Thanks

    If its only what you want at this moment does that mean you are going to change it when you have more money? If so do you really want to spend money on something you are going to throw away?

    Correction im not planning on buying something to get me by till later when i have more money that makes no sense. What ever i buy will be permanent. Just looking for a better stance. Ive gone back n forth between leveling and lifting. I dont plan on going with bigger tires, ive seen tacomas with 3 inches of lift and stock road tires and to me they look fine. I would rather go with 2 inches of lift with the 265's i have, but having a hard time find what im looking for.

    I wouldnt go with spacers dude. Just something about them keeps me away. I would spend the money the right way and do best first. The cheapest 3 inch lift would be the pro comp for about 450. That has the aal, shocks and the springs but with this kit its gonna run alittle stiff. The pro comp springs are more stiffer but still work good and you can 3 inches. I would do that. Dont go with that lift and do the spacers. You will bottom out your shocks that way. Trust me, spend the extra money on a good kit or dont do it at all

    This is mine truck with 265/75/16s on the ome 3inch lift kit with the aal in back. tires look alittle small but there not that bad. I like it. You seem to have the duratracs right? so you should be fine. Go with the pro comp.[​IMG]

    I hve kelly safaries practically the same tire as the duretracs. I just came across the toytec 884 coils and the 2 in aal. im liking this idea

    Yeah thats a good lift too. Lots of people have them. How you like the tires. Whats the load range on them.

    Ive got 10,000 mile on them I like them alot. No visible signs of wear. Guy at shop was floored at how easy they were to balance. I went with load range C they also offer E. The are made in america so no sitting on a boat for months.
    On the toytec website i can get the 884s and the AAL for 270 shipped. Now that i found it for so cheap i wish i was actually able to lay my money down and not have to wait and save up.

    Oh wow. I will have the look at those tires. what size of them and the name. Kellys what? How your mpg. Did it suffer alot.

    270 isn't bad for the lift. You might want to get some shocks with it. The stock should be fine but I would upgrade them. For an extra 200 you should get the shocks too. I know you don t have alot of money and I was in the same boat as you 1 year ago with no money for my lift but I saved up for a good one. You could run the lift kit now but I would also put the bills shocks too. Good combo and you don t have to buy anything else

    On the highway as long as you aint going balls to the wall down the highway and watching your RPMs you can turn out 19-22 mpg with the 265/75r16s. Now i live in a college town that has a stop signs or red lights every 150-200 feet and when there are alot of student im lucky to get 15 in town but during the summer when im not stopping in the traffic ill get 16-18. So with that said they didnt really hurt my millage too much except in stop and go traffic. I am very pleased with the tires.

    Well thanks for the help dude. They seem like a good tire. I just want something alittle more aggressive let still good for mpg since I drive like 24k a year lol. Good infor:). Will look more into them and if you need anymore help on the lift, I'll be glad to help you
