    SAS = Solid Axle Swap. (like an old SFA toyota or jeep just swapping in stronger axles.)

    SAC = Solid Axle Conversion (like an IFS tacoma putting in a SFA)

    I haven't cut into the truck yet still waiting on a few thing before I do. Holiday season so money is goin to presents and stuff. Pretty much life is coming before the SAC, but hopefully it'll be started in a couple of months and be ready before Moab.

    Hey Silas, I almost bought 2"x2" 3/16" or 1/4" wall tubing the other day to make a rear bumper like yours but then I thought... :spy:How the hell am I gonna be able to mount my other winch behind the bumper when the bumper is 4" tall? So I might go back for a price on 6"x3" tubing or similar so I can integrate a receiver into the bumper. Maybe even some 2"x1" to fit between the 2"x2"s... Hmmm :evil:

    Side note: I have my rear winch on a cradle that goes into my receiver hitch now, but I usually don't lug it around with me. Would be nice to have a rear mounted winch since its nice to have when you need it but it sucks when you need it and don't have it.

    Exactly... and if an 85 + yota goes to 1 ton axles (for example) it's undergoing a SAC up front and a SAS in the rear. :cool:
