    1st time truck owner. I think I made the best choice for my needs. Bought the double-cab, long bed, sport.

    I thought of replacing the LSD with the ARB locker ($1800- installed) but after seeing the Edmunds.com video on the Tacoma sport playing in the dirt and sand, I think I'll be fine.

    Welcome to TW. Long bed huh? I'm still suffering with the short bed. Backing up is a bitch in vehicle infested Toronto.:rant:

    I was looking a longbed doublecab, and realized that the vehicle is a little longer than a Chevy Tahoe. Too long for me. I like the shortbed with the bed extender, makes the bed the length of a standard bed without the long wheelbase.

    I did look at the shortbed. Just didn't want the weight of a couple of sportbikes on the tailgate.

    Welcome to TW!
    Nice Truck!
    This is my first, my wife's second...
    we got the long bed becuase it looked more like a balanced truck (she had a 3/4 ton silverado with a long bed 8')... She doesn't like the look of the short beds...
    No offense intended... :)

    Farmington. 'Bout 15 miles from the Mall of America.

    Still waiting for that white stuff to try out 4H.

    That's my monster all right and its a short bed. I love the ride and the power dude. My friends are surprised as how smooth and quiet the ride is in the City. On the highway, the wind noise can be annoying.

    Since you are so sure, I checked my "Feature Sheet" that was displayed on the window when the truck arrived at the yard. It says;

    Body Style: Double cab standard bed.
    Truck Bed: 6-Foot cargo bed.

    Now, I never paid any attention to that since I thought I was getting a SB. Since you messed with me, I had to check. I wonder if the 6-Foot bed is measured with the tail gate down. I'll try to post my "feature sheet" on TW, if anyone is interested.

    Cheers.

    topdec: It was killing me so I had to step out in the snow storm to check. You are f'in right. Its a 6 foot bed with the gate up. Now that I'm used to the size, I have no regrets. It's a good thing, isn't it?
