Morning all. I'll be wrenching at my house at various times during my Christmas vacation. No real schedule just whenever I get time.

Probably spelled right. I've got to replace ALL 24 wheel studs and lug nuts and replace a leaf spring bolt. I figure one beer per stud and nut combo should be about right.

I have a couple of floor jacks, jack stands, wood blocks, a sledgehammer, very large pry bars etc. if you need. Let me know. I also have an air chisel, die grinder & a decent compressor, if anything gets too stubborn.

Air tools and compressor may be handy. I'm trying to figure out a way to press the studs out so I don't risk beating my hubs to death. Cant afford to replace those too.

    :brianr:

This weather here reminds me of North Carolina. High 30s to mid 40s and rain. Rarely did we get snow.

I have a few large C-clamps, but they're made in China, so I don't know if they would stay together or not. We could try that, though; if they break, they're inexpensive.

I was thinking of an arrangement such as:

    Large C clamp
    Appropriate diameter deep well socket
    PB'laster

Soak the hell out of stud with B'Laster
Place clamp so threaded end is against outside end of stud
Place socket between solid end of clamp and back of stud so pressure is placed only on area around the stud (if there is enough room) and so socket will catch stud
Twist like a 13 year old boy playing Tune in Tokyo

This is where an air tool may be handy. If the pressure alone isn't enough, maybe added vibration will help break it loose.

This is all speculation since I've never done this before. So I may be entirely talking out my ass.

I've never done it on the vehicle before either, but that might work. I am on vacation from work starting next Saturday, the 22nd. Just let me know when you want to do this (you'll have to call me, as I don't have the interwebzes at home yet). :turtleride:

Same schedule, 21st is last day then back to work on Jan 2nd. This will be an on again off again project, as I get time between holiday festivities. Also I have proven repeatedly that I am a bad labor hours estimator when it comes to this truck.

I saw a few vehicles heading north on I-25 this morning w/ snowboards and/or skis on them. I had a tiny amount of snow at my place in Nob Hill.

I have to work this morning. :violent:
