12G shot gun has many many uses. they are not that much either. also i think they are great for home deviance. unlike a pistol, or rifle. a shot gun with shot shell(not slugs) is A LOT less likely to go thru a wall or a door.

not saying all rifle and pistol round will go thru a wall, but they are much more likely to go thru a wall. also put a couple round of 00 buck shot in someone and they will be in the ER or maybe dead. and 00 buck is not going to go thru a wall as easy.

 

i would say 00 buck instead of bird shot. but that my opinion..

 

He had a reason why it was bird. I forget it now though. He also said most criminals would run once they heard the pump.

 

True. I forgot about shotguns lol. I want a recreational gun too. I've always been into long range shooting

I think it was a combo of scatter pattern and wall penetration like mentioned above.

yep and you just have to be 18 to get them and the ammo.

long rang. idk i use a 243 for deer hunting. i have the scope right on at 100 yards. i can shoot farther if i need to or want to. ammo price is not to bad.


also something i really want is a bow. not just for hunting but for fun.

also IF, i mean IF. something bad does happen i can hunt deer or what ever and no one will even know. unlike a gun shot that can be heard a long ways off.

 

I'm 18 almost 19 lol, so shotguns are a possibility.

Bows are always useful. A good compound bow will be added when I get more money.

I saw a Smith & Wesson AR-15 for like $650 at 4 Seasons. I want one of those with a few pre-ban 30 round mags.

 

That is very true. The cycling of any gun would make someone think twice about what they are doing.

I'm actually looking for a shotgun right now. Dick's seems to be the cheapest, Bass Pro isn't bad either. You can get a new Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 pump in the low to mid $300's.

30 round mags are fun. but you go thru ammo fast.

For target shooting, I'll eventually pick up a .22LR. Ammo is dirt cheap so you can go through several hundred rounds and only be out a few bucks.

^^Check out this page. I like the one at the bottom because it has 2 barrels, one rifled, one smooth. Bass Pro also has the Mossberg 500 for $319.
