My thoughts and prayers go out to that Community. I am sickened with both anger and saddness for the act of COWARDNESS this ANIMAL committed. Should that situation ever occurr in my presence, I can only hope that I will be the one to stop it from becoming a massacre. I will not be merciful on that person.

Even though he is the only one who physically committed the heinous crimes here, I do hope those who may have, even unknowingly, aided it by giving him access to all this stuff, are held responsible, at least to some extent.

They should tie cinder blocks to his ankles and throw his rotten body in the ocean with a frenzy of great white sharks. What a fuck head. Don't blame his metal condition on this. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE TO KILL 20+ little kids with an assault rifle.

Very sad day. Evil on display today. :(

most will feel sadness...most will shed tears...and many will pray.

then, most will pick one of three parts of this tradgedy to opine on:
    -the psychology of the shooter
    -the weapon(s)
    -the culture

Just a random (very random) thought but.....only thing i could think of as to why:

IF and I mean IF...(media are jokers) if he was autistic or mentally challenged in some way

maybe he thought his mom loved the kids that she taught more than him

Just a thought as to why he would take this out on little kids.

He killed his mother before going to the school. Someone with those kinds of problems/ or attachment issues probably couldn't buy tactical equipment 3 hand guns and a rifle without it seeming suspicious.

He didn't buy the weapons. The weapons were purchased legally by his mother. (according to news reporting)

Maybe its just me. As a firearms owner I obviously don't like seeing/hearing that this was because the shooter had firearms. From what I have read and heard this person had mental issues and that the firearms were bought by his mother. While I hear about "gun control" this isn't a "gun control" issue. Federal law says that someone with mental issues/disability are barred from purchasing or owning firearms. Which with I 100% agree with. The "firearms issue" that we have in this situation is that the firearms were accessible to someone with mental issues. My heart goes out to the children, school staff and families that this has happened to.

It's pretty astonishing to me someone would do this, especially to kids. It's one thing if you're going to kill an adult. Heinous as it is, but fuck, kids? Seriously, if you're going to go kill your mother or whoever do that and then off yourself. Not that I advocate killing another, but I really can't wrap my head around why he killed all the children in addition to his mother whom I assume was the primary target. And mental illness is not an excuse for this sort of thing. I really refuse to believe he didn't know the ramifications of his actions even if he did have some sort of mental condition.

My sentiments exactly. If you own firearms keep them properly locked/stored. Especially if you have children, mentally handicapped, etc in the house.

Makes you wonder who they were really bought for. Yes, obviously there are women firearm enthusiasts just as their are men, but a middle aged kindergarten teacher buying an AR15 for personal use isnt exactly the norm. I mean if he's only 20 he probably wouldn't have been allowed to purchase hand guns or the assault rifle til he was 21 regardless of mental history, correct?

IIRC in CT you can purchase a rifle at 18, but must wait until 21 to purchase a handgun.

i cant believe anyone could ever do this, it makes me sick just thinking about it. It is bad enough when this happens to adults but when you involve children its a whole different level.

This was 15 minutes from where I live. Apparently they were registered firearms and they were the mothers. The investigation will show if they were locked up or not. But if she was at school, even if those guns were in a safe, that kid had time to go to work on it uninhibited.... The fact is, right now, anything is possible and lets just say prayers and leave the political gun control crap for another week....

I now believe that there should be a LEO in every school across the nation from this day forward. One per every 500 students or whatever. I would gladly see my taxes slightly raised to never see this type of thing happen ever again. Fucking coward shot a bunch of women and children. Unacceptable.
