haha. I have thought about doing that. I have no doubts I could make the drive in my Taco. Would take a lot of snow to stop it. Just not sure how well I could drag a car through it all... can't just leave her car there...

The other catch is that would cost a fucking shit ton in gas! Cost me about $150 to drive there and back in my car, Taco would cost me 3 times that I am sure! Probably 4 times if the weather got really bad...

who gives a shit about crawling when you can compete in the paris-dakar, baja 1000, and world rally championship in a 150k rig. some of those purpose built rally cars cost well over a million dollars a piece. I could buy 6 of the wildcats for that kind of money!

 

The lift Adam was referring to is on my truck...and yes, "all day" accurately described!
A big shout out to Adam for his help with this!
Here is the gory details: We met at a little after 9am, grubbed a little at Micky D's and started with the passenger front at around 10-ish. First glitch...Front shocks do not want to be coaxed out without unbolting and dropping sway bar. Adam politely suggests trashing the sway bar, but my anal-retentive mind has a hard time wrapping around that because: It's a brand new flippin truck! and I don't no shit from shine-nola as to what the sway-bar does or does not do...so we unbolt the whole thing , to be put back on later. BTW, we are installing a Toytec 3" lift with the 5160 Remote Billy's, and LR UCA's: Next glitch was the long-ass bolts holding the UCA's...there was no way in hell we were going to get them out without cutting and I did not arrive with replacements...the 2nd Toy dealer in town just happens to have 2 of these illusive 24 carat gold pieces, so we hop into Adams Daytona Pace Car and jam on down for a parts run. So...After dropping the sway bar and cutting and replacing the long-ass bolts, we start gaining some momentum. We work tirelessly through-out the day...by passing lunch...trying to attain the elusive goal of a 4-6 hour install time...let me stop here and bust a gut laughing...for two reasons...that time frame NEVER HAPPENED!...and...anyone who knows Adam will attest to his dry, comical sense of humor...and that really helped get us through the rest of the install and subsequent hiccups. The rear add-a-leaf just did not want to cooperate so, we broke for dinner at around 6pm, to clear our heads. YES...6pm! Upon returning with full bellies, and dextrose infused brains...for some silly-ass reason, everything just started to flow, and the rear leafs and shocks went on without too much of a hitch...except between the two of us in our desire to meet the "4-6 hour deadline"...we would occasionally leave out a washer somewhere...only to ask: Wherethefuck did this come from?? Then, as Adam is under the passenger rear, and I am crammed into the wheel-well wrestling with something, we both hear a loud BANG, and some noise following...a little scary when thinking about how the truck is being jacked up with bottle jacks on bricks, that have already cracked and failed...(yes we had back-up jackstands...but still, somewhat sketchy)...SO...the loud bang was one of the two garage door springs blowing out! A very random occurrence, but just enough of a jolt to our already tired brains and bodies for us to say: WTF?
OK, suffice to say: I left Adam's house at around 9:45 pm. Adam spent a good 12 hours helping a total stranger with something that I would have NEVER wanted/dreamed to attempt by-myself!! Not only did I come away with a boat-load of knowledge, and a bitchen looking truck...but I have met one of the damn nicest people in the INW! I look forward to hanging out with Adam, and popping a few rounds out at Hayden Creek, near my home...where Adam has been known to go, to smell the sweet smell of gun-powder.

Huh not sure why you had to cut the bolts for UCAs..we didn't have to on my dads 2nd gen. Wasn't super easy but someone had yo feather them from above and some one below..but we got it
