As soon as My u bolt flip comes in I'll be doing "OMD" rear leaf packs which should easly max out my rear shock down travel. I'm looking
@ a few options for rear shocks and they all are in the 22.9"-24.85" max extended range. Does anyone know what would be optimal for a 2.5"ish rear lift?

I'd measure to be 100% sure but I was 25" with wheelers 3 leaf aal. Now with the AP's it's 27"......I'd say a 10" shock should be enough to allow good down travel and not bump out on compression.

those lengths look a little long.... or my calc's are short? According to bilstein their 5100 for 1-3" lift is 14.02"-22.94" in length. I gotta do some more homework.

5100's are really for no more than 1" lift since your losing down travel. You can get a 5125 or 5150 in 8" travel and with the 1.5" stem top adaptor you'll get that down travel back. You could also just go with a fox or icon rear shock as they should fit but you'll pay a little more.

Yeah I'm looking too much at up travel as well. I'll have to look at this a bit more once I get my springs done.

    10" of travel (5 up/5 down) is a little too much for a 3", 9"-9.5" max

I have the 4-leaf TSB plus ToyTec 1.5" TSB add-a-leaves in the rear with my stock TRD Offroad Bilstein shocks. I have brand new 5100s ready to install, but I'm wondering if I should go with 5125s instead. I ask because ever since installing the TBS and add-a-leaves the rear of my truck sounds/feels like the shocks top-out when the bed kicks up from going over bumps at speed (I can feel a slight thud and there's an associated "wham!" sound). It sounds like the 5100s are good for up to a 1" lift, but I'm somewhere near that 2" gray area. Anyone have any advice?

    10in should be fine.

The best way to do it would be to have some custom fab shock relocation done and go to a 12 or 14" shock and really max out that rear axle travel.

are driver and pass side's different lengths?

I took off both shocks tonight, lifted my pass side tire, and measure 18'' from mount to mount. that was using a tape measure, pushing the end of it against the bottom of the upper mount, then lining it up with the lower mount.

this is with a 2'' blocks and the stock 4 leaf pack.

measured drivers side yesterday, and that was closer to 16''...

On the 2nd Gen, the shocks are the same length side to side. 1st Gens are side specific.

no just on the pass. side. I'll try it again after work.

looking liek the fox 2.0's would work, they sit at 16'' collapsed and 26'' extended. pretty sure my extended length was 24'', so I would have plenty on that end of things. they are just more money than I wanted to spend...

No part number. You just need to order the 10". I would get real measurements on your setup though.

    Fox 2.0 10"
