My 08 TRD sport had an Sr5 badge, not sure if they quit doing that in 2012 to save money or something.

I think they stopped adding the SR5 badge with the 2011 TRD's

    Too few to list.
I have a 2011 and I don't recall removing an SR5 badge. I don't think the dealer will budge on the tires but the OP can argue that the truck did not have actual miles as the odometer would have turned slower due to tire size.

No SR5 badge on 2011 TRDs

Op. May have more options if he was sold a TRD offroad that isnt really a TRD.

False advertisement. Dealer misrepensented the vehicle.

OP, do some research and determine who licenses auto dealers in your state.

If you don't reslove this problem with the dealer to your satisfaction, file complaints with the BBB, State Attorney General Consumer Fraud and the state agency that licenses auto dealers.

You may have purchased the vehicle "as is" but there are certain responsibilities the dealer has, and tires are one of them.

You may also want to check with the DMV and see if you can locate the previous owner and determine if he swapped out the tires........Also, check with your local Toyota dealer service writer/service dept and have them printout the sales and service record for your truck

Actually, EVERY new Tacoma owner is driving with an inaccurate speedometer when they drive off the lot until they install oversized tires.

But the OP got a truck with undersized tires, so his speedo is even further off than it was stock.

    +1

There's a 5-lug RC rolling around the San Fernando Valley sporting TRD Offroad bedside stickers and 4x4 badges and mudflaps.

Having an experience like this with a dealership, that is the LAST place I'd want to take my vehicle for service... paid or free.

It's like screaming at a waitress and then eating the food she brings.

So OP saw a funky looking USED truck, bought it, and is now complaining complaining that the dealership sold it to him?

A worker probably took the tires and put their used ones on the truck

Sorry OP, I doubt you have very much going for you in this battle. You should have spoken up and done your research before signing.

    Agreed.

As I said last night... he wanted to upgrade the tires anyways.
Just fucking do it. It's not like the tire shop is going to pay him for the take-offs whether they're new or not.
Just don't deal with that dealership again.

The OP said that his friends had good experiences at this dealer. Sounds like the repo truck was robbed of its cool tires at some point, could have been by the dealer or by the guy who knew it was about to get repo'd.? I don't think the current tires are a reflection of thier Service Dept. but it is possible.

Unfortunately this is one of those things that, if you don't catch it at the gate, the responsibility is on your shoulders. At least that's how it is in NJ.

Your expectations are more of a certified pre-owned vehicle. Sorry to hear about your experience.
