Yeah, I am not looking to go down the gun control road. I understand the logic you make, and agree. I do however think the ease of access (shear numbers) to guns does not help the issue

So you think the reasoning is unsound? A man in China wanted to wreak havoc on a bunch of kids, couldn't get a gun so he stabbed 21 along with an 86yr old lady.

Just showing other weapons do more damage.

I am just glad I haven't seen much "violent video games and rap music need to be banned" talk.

I think you missed my point. I'm saying the responsibility that teachers have on our kids is huge. There are teachers that abuse their power as well. Arming teachers adds another dimention of trust that I'm not sure about. I respect and appreciate all my teachers through my years. Just saying there are bad seeds in society and teachers are part of the society as a whole

I personally know the very first officer that responded to the call. And while that person fell apart emotionally after everything settled down, that person said that the people bringing forward the gun debate conversations are absolute clueless uneducated idiots. I don't think anyone else is more qualified than this person to comment on the topic

Few people actually understand the real issues. At least this police officer gets it. Most people who advocate gun control have probably never even held a gun and only associate them with killing because that is what they see in movies and video games.

Generally speaking, the bombings in the world are more aligned with political affiliations or directed against a specific group of people.

"Shooting" has everything to do with it when the killings aren't politically motivated as most "bombings" are. And especially when talking about a society where firearms are much, much more accessible than explosives.

    And this.

I'm going to guess there are more assault rifles in the hands of people in foreign countries than in the US civilian population. Yes, people have them... but how many fully automatic assault rifles have you seen used in mass shootings? Your answer is NONE in the past 50 years. Yes, they were common in old times with tommy guns and the such but none as of late.

Hopefully those with fully auto rifles (special permits) are smart enough to have them locked up like any responsible gun owner would do.

I'll edit this one... there has been one. It was in LA of all places at a Bank of America. But the guns were semi-automatic when bought and illegally converted to full auto by the criminals who used them.

    Actually incorrect

Guns probably wouldn't have gotten throug security. Box cutters did.

So just to clarify your inherently flawed logic, you believe it is in fact easier to hijack a commercial airliner and crash it into a public building than it is to take a gun into a public place and shoot people, correct?

Additionally, go to your local airport and try to board a plane with a pair of box cutters now. Security was a lot different in 2001 than it is in 2012. If you truly are arguing it isn't easier (make sure you're reading this properly. Easier, not a matter of possible or impossible) to commit a mass murder with a gun than other means than I'm taking the way of OZ and leaving the convo since we clearly can't have an intelligent convo if that is the widely accepted logic.

I completely agree with Mr. Freeman. Media in the united states has gotten out of control.

Then don't watch it and don't buy the products advertised on it.

Media is the truest form of consumer-driven product in the country, perhaps the world.

I would much rather have the free press and media we have here than a state-run outlet such as Pravda or anything in PRK.
