So, ive had a bunch of brand new suspension stuff sitting in my living room for the past 2 months. Haven't had much time to install anything so no pics yet . I got remote reservoir coilovers, remote res rear shocks, and UCA's from Icon. got a set of deaver J66's, front and rear jounce shocks from light racing, and finally the 3" lift spindles from total chaos. I was wondering if anybody installed the spindles themselves, and how the install went. How did you swap the bearings over? how hard was the work? any help let me know!

I haven't done it myself but I know that 06Bluez installed some Allied spindles on his Prerunner recently, maybe he'll chime in :D

He said it definitely wasn't easy and that it took quite a few hours! ;)

i know downsouth has them, but he never responded to the PM's i sent a while ago. It kinda made up my mind to buy em from ORW instead of downsouth motorsports.

Well, finally got everything installed on my truck, tookit off jacks, and son of a bitch! my stock 17" wheels were rubbing my brand new TC spindles. WTF!?! The instructions have a warning that 1/4" spacers are required for 16" stock rims, not 17" rims. Anyone know what wheels and what backspacing I need to clear the spindles?

I am about to run Camburg Spindles. I have 5 inches of backspacing on my current wheel setup but I bought the Spidertrax wheel spacers so I can clear the spindle. BTW...how hard was the install for the spindles?

You may have to get wheels with a different BS. Maybe some woth a 5" BS or less.

Any wheels under 4.75 inches of backspacing can clear the spindles but I would recommend just getting the spacers...

Kenny, the spindles werent too bad to install, it goes a lot smoother and faster if you have a couple of people to help. you dont even need to press/pull anything. I suggest leaving the spindles on while taking off the 4 bolts that hold the hub bearing to the spindle. Use a screwdriver and hammer to pop it out. then attach the new spindle to the lower control arm, and then you use the four bolts to tighten the hub back down, and it will seat itself. you may need to grind the calipers to get the attatch points to line up.

Im kind of skeptical about the spacers, because I plan on beating up the truck a little in the desert, and dont want the added sress to the hubs. I will look 2morrow for wheels with less than 4.75" BS, If I cant find any within my budget, I guess I will go with the spacers.

yup, brand new steel braided lines, they came with the spindles. The only hard part about those is when you disconnect the upper hard line from the rubber line, there is a flare, so all of the threads will be backed out, and you will have to pry (hard as hell) to get the flare out of the old rubber brake line. then you're home free. on the TC spindles, most of the brackets get tossed, so it makes it easier to get everything done.

My last two sets of wheels have been 17X9, -12mm offset and 4.5 inch backspace and I have had no rubbing issues and did not need spacers.

Well, thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I found bermise, he has the TC spindles, and has 4.5" BS and runs a 12 mm offset on a 17" rim. I guess the stock rims on a Sport has 5" of BS, so no wonder why Im grinding the wheels against the spindles. Kenny, let me know if you need any more advice with the install. hope it goes smoothly, Its gonna b sick as hell.
