gear ratio?

2006 DC4x4 TRD Off Road 4.0V6 6spd. Manual trans,factory tow pkg...anyone know the gear ratio? Just road tested with my new 3300# travel trailer and it seems a little long legged. I'm worried about burning the clutch and am wondering if a gear swap is in order.

 

i think its 3.73

 

3.73 on the 4.0
4.10 on the 2.7

Most towing, I generally pull only 1500lb or less utility trailer. Gearing perfect.

Have pulled 5000 lb and 4000 lb boat. 1st is very short unloaded, but was great towing heavy. However going to 2nd seems tall, you really got to rev her out making the change to 2nd, esp climbing.

Also if you normally run regular gas, when u tow put in Premium. Gain few hp & 12ft/lbs when u need it and helps offset $ with better mpg.

 

I'm curious if my 2008 Access Cab 4x4 4.0 V6 A-Trans would also have the 3.73 rear gearing as it also has the factory installed hitch. I bought it used and can't seem to find this detail. Anyone know? Or better yet anyone know where I may find a copy of the vehicle window sticker?

 

low range anyone? I know someone did a mod to make it 2 low, I used to do that in my old ranger. If you're towing anything that big, I wouldn't be worried about speed, thats for sure
