On top of accesible mental healthcare, wouldn't preventative healthcare be a preferred method when possible?

I'd hate to sound like a gramps at 24, but it seems that trends in what is morally acceptable here in america go hand in hand with crime trends. This is from my personal, and limited understanding, but the concept remains.

If less kids grew up watching junk that desensitizes them to violence and sex, etc, thus thinking it is okay to allow their kids to be subjected to various things, and so and and so forth, wouldn't you think that would lower the rate of human beings capable of committing horrid acts like rape, murder, and the like?

I'm all for maintenance on both ends, fixing what's broken as well as preventing as much as we can. Same concept should be applied to personal health, in my opinion. You can't just hand out pills and bandaids without telling people to eat better, get some exercise and sunshine, and fix the cause of the problem along with the symptoms.

    Just a concept to consider.

Has there been any sort of relief fund or way to send supporting words or anything to the victims? It'd be great if TW could make a thread dedicated to helping them out, no political talk, just links to how we can contribute to helping our fellow people who are in need.

Mod list... Well, my paint is factory.
What would you do if someone broke into your house in the middle of the night? Say you knew that people had been killed and raped in home invasions in your area, now there is someone in your house and they are coming into your bedroom. Would you grab your firearm or simply call the police and wait?

I don't think it's tv, movies or anything else. In my opinon parents shelter thier kids too much, it's their responsibility to teach them the concept of reality and right from wrong as well as good and evil. If they don't the kids WILL hear it from friends and others first, then the parents will have to try and reverse what the kids have already learned from others.

If they ever protested a funeral for anyone that I knew, I'm pretty sure I would be in jail and the front of my truck would be covered in red...

This whole deal is just fubar. :( No wonder some people think the world is done for this week with shit like this happening. I say it would be a decent idea for schools to have weapons lockers available for staff to access in the event of an emergency.

    Not worth it.

So the problem is a society issue. With the number of guns per capita, the opertunity is there but very rarely happens.
