Got my grill on wednesday and put it on immediately! Looks awesome too! Gave me a little motivation to detail the truck as well. Win Win. Thanks a lot Homer, great job! Well worth the wait!

 

I took it to the body shop I used to work at, which is by far the most reputable place in town. He really only takes luxury cars and high end models anymore, because most people can't afford his work. The dude is a perfectionist and VERY good at what he does. The only reason he'll still accept me as a customer is because I used to work for him and he has a love for tacos.

Anywho, I did my own satoshi and it is nothing less than a hack job. It was a decent first attempt but "letting the painter fix it" should not apply to this kind of work. And in this case, Sam wouldn't even look at mine haha. Actually he did, once, and then said, nope I'm not messing with that.

So just the other day I took my NEW Homertaco Made Satoshi and he was astonished with the workmanship. His exact words were 'well I'm glad there is someone out there whos both this good with a plastic welder, and is willing to take the time to do it right'

So hats off to you sir, yet again, truly a master in your craft.
+1 doesn't do it justice, but I shall give it nonetheless

Quick update:

Made significant progress on the current "in production" batch:



Basically just waiting on the mesh back from Powder Coat & the outer surrounds to come back from paint so I can begin assembly.

I started a restoration project this weekend:



This grill was one of the first satoshi grills ever produced! A former member of TW (SecretSquirrel) built this for another member and I now have it in my possession due to an exchange.
It's not in great shape right now - after all it's been to Moab like 3 times.
I've been working on filling the chips and also cut out the triangles as they were still stock.
This grill will get the M4 TRD mesh and then be completely color matched - I have not decided which, but it will either be 1E7 or 040.
It's a fun project getting it back into shape - my buddy Rich did a very good job building this one using the fiberglass/bondo method.

I'll be sending the PM out to set up the next batch within a week or so.

I may have missed it but whats the usual turnaround time for each 10 to be finished and shipped?

I'm curious since I want to put my name on the list but I wanna see what type of time frame i have.

 

Well, let's see...this may give you an idea. I started off at #86 on the list in June. I am now #9 about to go "into production" and it is now December. So from #86 it took 6 months. The list is now longer than that....

 

Yup.

When members PM me asking what the wait is my response is always "several months at least".
Each of these grills is still built by me by hand - since this is a part time operation, that wait is not likely to change much....

 

Just do the wait! You aren't going to get a better product for your money then with HomerTaco's Grills. I am so pleased with mine and waiting just made it all that much sweeter.

Thats all there is to it!

 

Oh I'm just curious. Not complaining or anything at all.

I for one appreciate a well handmade product over anything else to be honest

Quick update:
I expect to have the mesh back before the end of this week however the outer surrounds are questionable. My body shop has been swamped lately and running behind schedule...
I'll keep you all posted.
Due to this I've sent the PM out for the next batch so I can finalize the selections and get the surrounds out to paint as early as possible.
