So we just got this new 2012 Dodge 2500 SL High Output with the new 6.7 Diesel. We traded in the wifes 2007 Tacoma 2wd for it. We got the Truck for $35,000.
IT has the Stick shift 4WD. Nothing to fancy pretty plain jane but a nice driving truck for towing our 21 ft toyhauler.
Still have my DD 2008 Tacoma though. For the serious offroading.:D

$35,000 for a 4 door, 4wd diesel isn't bad at all in my opinion. I don't know anything about the new Dodge diesel engine but sounds like you did alright with the price. Hopefully it holds up!

Dito on the holding up. It drives pretty nice and damn quite for a diesel in the cab. Wife gets to drive it mostly since it was her truck that we traded in.

Good find at a good price. Only bad thing I read about the Dodge powertrain is an ineffective exhaust brake compared to the GM Duramax + Allison combo.

Well hope they have it figured out on this one. Will be using it a little this wknd for a small trip and light trailer as in a couple thousand pounds. So the truck wont even know its there. But hopefully try out the exhaust brake and hill decent control.

A new pic of our running boards for our new dodge. Also got a new Rigid 20" SR series LED bar from wunderparts.com for $388.00 and free shipping. Going to put this down on the lower portion of the front bumper. Rigid makes a new mount bracket that the light bolts to using the front tow hooks mount points.
Mounted the Dodge factory running boards, weather tech liners front and rear. Also getting some new rubber next week. Nothing to big. 265/70R17 Toyo A/T II.
Then Im going to sand blast the rims and paint them with Rustoleum textured Black. Awesome truck so far. will be towing our toy hauler this wknd. So will see how well it goes with its first medium load for this truck. Also put some weather tech window guards on as well.

nice truck! and thats a nice bumper! Dodge makes some really good engines. The ONLY down side or bad thing i have really heard of is some of the transmissions crap out. but i heard they redid it and have a new one with in the last 2 or 3 years. idk may have been a rumor.

If i needed a bigger truck than the taco i would prob just jump up and get a dodge 2500 and skip 1/2 tons.

Cummins has finally gotten the DPF/EGR stuff worked out, they had bigtroubles the first couple years(07.5/08). That 6.7 is pretty legit though. The 6 speed behind it is almost bullet proof too, good choice. I had my 05 for 96k miles, with very few problems. Its often I miss that truck.

So added a little to our truck over the last week or so. Painted up the stock steel wheels with RUSTOLEUM TEXTURED BLACK, and RUSTOLEUM CLEAR COAT.
Put new rubber on it as well. TOYO A/T II in 265/70R17 Load E.

Added some stock mudflaps front and rear. Added the factory brake control module. Should be getting the Snug top for it this next week with the Linex in the bed. They shipped it out this week.

Also added a Rigid 20" SR series LED bar, brackets and orange covers for the front.
So here is a few pics of it so far.
