It may be because you have a bit less lift then me but those Toyo's look huge compared to my KM2's. Mind getting a height measurement on them? Truck looks great!

anyone running the cooper ST's in 255/85r16 have any good or bad reviews? Thinking about running them as my next set of tires. really like that they are only 49lbs. I dont do much (if any) offroading... need a good street/snow tire for my DD taco. might see the dirt once or twice a year. Trying to keep weight down as much as possible too.

Can't comment on snow but the Cooper's are doing me well on both street and rock. No complaints. Only had them for 10k miles though.

Anyone run this size tire with a set of Maxtrac spindles? If so, can you post some pics?

    255/75R17 exists,
255/80R16 does not in every day drivable tires, unless you dd super swampers or something :D

I know because I want 255/80R16 to exist already so I can run a true 32 on me pickup.

Recently got some 255's mounted on my stockers.. but its time for some new shoes.
trying to decide beween SCS 17x8.5's or Procomp 7089 17x8's
Just wondering if the .5" will factor in when deflating the tires? I read that 7" wide wheels are best, but good luck finding a nice set that are black.

    heres a pic

Hey all, I have a few questions about running this size tire (255/85/16).

    1. Have any of you run into problems with stock 2nd Gen V6 gears or any other issues of the sort?
    2. Have any of you noticed considerably less braking power after installing these size tires?
    3. Will this size tire work (with no rubbing, at least on the cab mount) on this lift: OME 885's (with Bilstein 5100's at 0'') and Toytec 1.5'' AAL?
    4. The TRD Beadlock style wheels (16 x 7.5 with 4.5'' BS) will work on this size correct?

    1. No, I was actually expecting a more noticeable power loss. It really isn't bad at all.
    2. No, but I didn't think my truck's brakes were that impressive stock.
    3. I have 885s on OME shocks up front with a small top plate spacer and a Toytec AAL in the rear. Had some minor rub on some plastic up front that was easily fixed with a heat gun. Only rub I have now is full stuff in the rear at the top of the wheel well.
    4. I have the same wheels. Other then the fact that I think these wheels cause my rear rub, most guys running these tires on standard TRD Off Road Package wheels claim they stuff into the wheel well rather then rubbing like mine do. The wheels fit BFG's recommendations for these tires.

Just want to see what this size tire looks like on a truck that is running the Maxtrac spindles, given the fact that the spindles push the front wheel out. I may eventually go to this size and want to see how it looks first.

Anyone else have some more input? Especially on the lift question, will these tires work well (i.e. NO cab mount rubbing) with OME 885's (Bilstein's at 0'') and Toytec 1.5'' AAL?

    In my sig
    1. I don't notice any "gear hunting" w/ a auto V6.
    2. Braking is slightly less, but not much.
    3. See my sig for lift. Essentially the same w/ no rubbing of cab mount.
    4. Yeah, it'll work.

because interesting. toyo beside cooper from expedition portal, displays size variation from one mfg to another in this size, interco trxus is smallest at spec of 32.7(no side by side pic avail), i still want them but might just have to settle for the toyo's at 33.5 which is largest spec, cooper in pic spec is 33.2, would love to see km2 side by side with toyo mt.

    D.TireDirect - $985
    DiscountTires - $998
