Depends on what your intended usage is, i.e. streaming media from your computer, streaming from online, etc? Also if you are in the Apple ecosystem already it's usually the best user experience to stay in it, again depends on what you want to do though. But if you are the frugal type, and/or the Roku does what you want then go with that.

The Apple TV does not stream to other devices. You can airplay to the Apple TV from any iOS device or Mac.

    ... ^^^ ... Netflix, Hulu and that is about it .... Thanks ... :D

PS: I was just wondering if we could watch regular TV programs on laptops or iPad with it (streaming from TV) in some way.

Nah, Apple TV doesn't stream out, only in. If you want to stream TV to your laptop or iPad a sling box is probably your best bet. But your cable provider (if you have one) may have apps that let you do that for free so check there first. If you're a tivo person then have a streamer now too. Several options out there.

Also, if you just want to do Hulu and Netflix you can get both of those on an XBox, PS3, Wii, or Tivo if you have any of those already.

Not sure if someone has asked or did a review on Apple TV...

Debating about getting it seems pretty cool for 100 dollars..

    Pros? Cons?

    Thanks in advance

I got rid of cable and use a roku exclusively. The iPad can stream Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon which I have on the roku. I debated getting the Apple TV but went with the roku.

Well after consideration of all my options and having, iTunes, and iCloud; I went with Apple TV.

I LOVE IT!! Prefect match if you have apple products. Easy to set up and Easy to use.

    I recommend it to everyone.

Only negative after messing around with it for a couple hours is that I can't use Amazon Prime on it, but I knew it going into my purchase.

I will put pictures up in a little bit after my boys show is over.

I imagine it won't be long until they have an Amazon Prime app for Apple TV. They have one for the iPad.

How do I increase the volume on one of the older iPad3 when using headphones. The Bose headphones in question work well on all other media players.
