I see lots of Tapco/Tasco/UTG/BSA on AR15s but the truth of the matter is that most ARs sold today only see range use. Mine are locked up in a safe, so I would not even be using them in a defenseive situation unless there really was a breakdown in society and things went insane.

So, unless you use an AR as part of your public service job, or are into competition, cheap parts on an AR really won't cause anything worse than a day of jams at the range or a broken part that is the perfect excuse for an upgrade.

I get caught up in the brand-war details on gun forums as well, but we really can't expect to see super-premium stuff on a Tacoma forum. Wonder if the ARFCOM guys get berated when their spacer-lift tacomas show up in the background of one of their mall-ninja gun pics...

lol yep if anyone breaks in you get them with an always reliable hand gun that gives you an upper hand not a bulky ar15 not saying their not reliable as well.

Oh, don't get me wrong, my AR is an 11.5" SBR full of tactical CQB room clearing winged death. :) But, it's way too expensive and borderline illegal to keep an NFA weapon out and accessible, so my 9mm serves as my nightstand gun.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do. I'm hoping that the guns I'm looking at won't be affected. I'm hoping to get a shot gun to hunt and target shoot with next week and shortly after I would like to pick up a .22lr pistol for the range. I'm buying the shotgun new since it seems you buy them once and keep them for life, the handgun I'll probably pick up used.

sadly i just saw that they are taking all Simi auto rifles off the shelfs.(thats what the news FB page said, idk if it’s all semi auto or just assault type weapons. and they are leaving semi auto hunting guns or not.

I just want to say that I am against personally owning a gun, but I think its great that you all are expressing your freedoms. This is what makes America such a great country!

That's ok, I'm going pump action :D I'm pretty sure it'll either be the Mossberg 500 or 535.

I don't think you will have to worry about the shotguns and .22lr at Dick's in the near term.

I wouldn't mind an auto and I hear the recoil isn't as harsh on them but it's more of a money thing. This is also my first shotgun so the simplicity of the pump action shotgun is probably better for a novice. Hell, I don't even know what I'll like hunting yet, I have a couple guys that said they'd take me out with them. I'm getting the combo so I'll have a slug and field barrel. Once I figure out what I like, I might look for a better shotgun then that is more specific to my needs but for now I want versatility.

yeah. i have a brake action 410(don’t really use it any more) and a brake action 20G. squirrel hunting can be fun, i do that a lot when season is open. i want to get into turkey and maybe some bird. thats why i want the auto.
