Krylong black flat paint

I was thinking of using this to paint my grill black. Anyone know if it works actually?

 

It will make the grille black, but it will chip when rocks or bugs hit it because spray can paint is non catalyzed meaning it uses no hardener.

 

BBQ paint on the aluminum Satoshi mesh, Krylon Fusion white on the inner surround (factory white on the outer shell)

 

The plastic-specific paints are much better than traditional spray paint.
They bond much better and hold up pretty well.

That picture was taken last weekend, I've got over 20k on that grille without touchups.

 

What can you get that won't chip/ would hold up better?

 

Yep, they sure are...more flexible.

 

Take it to a body shop.

Krylon Fusion, or the comparable RustOleum "All surfaces" is the best you are going to be able to get without going to a 2-part catalyzed paint shot from a pro-level gun. Airless sprayer doesn't count

 

I always use this paint when painting something flat black. I painted my skid plate with krylon and had good results. It is holding up well so far. Make sure to have good prep work and use a good primer and it should be fine.
