I know the academy is in New London, Ct. Not sure if there's a base there too, believe there is. New London is kind of dumpy, not as bad as Hartford or Bridgeport, but not anything great either.

Boston has one, in a decent part of the city. Cost of living is stupid though. There's one in Maine somewhere iirc, not sure where though.

I don't see how shims promote axle wrap, they're not like blocks where they give the axle more torque on the leaf springs, they just rotate the axle so the differential faces the carrier bearing. As far as the CB drop, I actually bought one for my truck and never installed it. The reason being is it makes the angle from the transfer case to the CB even worse than it already is. I made my vibrations better be just flipping the carrier bearing which puts it up a little higher but more in line with the transfer case (I wouldn't do that with the OME Dakars but I don't think I'd drop the CB at all except as a last resort because it'll make the angle coming out of the transfer case worse). But, like you said, every truck is different and, if/when it comes to chasing vibrations, it can be a PITA.

ok thanks. and ya main has one.

some may say i’m stupid. but i really like the cold.

thats the reason behind me asking about this in the northern threads. if i decide to do it and get in and can pick where i would like to be. i would like north east or north west. FL and SC and all are nice, but i like the cold weather more than the hot weather.

Massachusetts has Coast Guard Sector Boston which is a huge base, a smaller base down in Hingham, and Air Station Cape Cod. The Boston guys do a lot of shit escort and security work. Every once in a while they have to respond to a sinking fishing boat or pleasure boat.

You aren't supposed to aim the diff towards the t case with our trucks. The diff output should be parallel with the t case output with our driveshafts. Shimming it will promote wrap because its aiming the diff one way or the other in which the torque will just push it that way even worse. Idk... My cb drop works well.

Now I'm filling up 3x a week:eek:.what would I check. My filter is clean, All my fluids seem fine so idk. I was getting freaking 17 to 19 mpg with the other tires and 300 on a tank and now only 240.
