I'm actually looking forward to turkey season, I think that'll be fun. I think I would enjoy duck hunting also. In MA, you have to hunt deer with a shotgun also which is really why I want the slug barrel.

yeah, i just have to find a place to turkey hunt.

and thats sucks. we can use rifles and bows here. i used a 410 with slugs the first few times i deer hunted(i was 12 and went like 3 times) i really got into deer at 15 and got a 243 rifle.( rossi has 3 barrels, i can change 243,20G and a .22) very good gun for kids. or hell even smaller adults.

Do you mean because they're taking their stock off the shelves in the wake of the CT shooting or another reason?

    yea, that one.

I know everyone has their own opinion on it and that one is just mine. anyone could just as easily go in and use any of their other guns for bad things...black rifles are no different (IMO)

will they pull all the self defense rounds off the shelf too? all the compact pistols bc they can be easily concealed?

Bows are legal here too. So are rifles, they just have to be a muzzle loader:rolleyes:

nice. we have a 2week muzzle loader only season for deer. than just a normal season and you can use high powered rifle, bows or muzzle loaders.

also a bow only season from like september 1st till last day of october, than 2weeks of muzzle loader than the normal season. season end jan 6th.

I hear you and I've got mixed feelings about it. I wouldn't not buy something from them because of the way they reacted. It's not like they're the only stores in town that sell the stuff and, by them making their decision, they'll force people to smaller gun shops or other stores that still sell the full selection. It's their right to choose what they want to sell, I don't necessarily agree with it, but it's their store and a free market.

You are correct, it is their right to chose. I feel like continuing to buy from them would be supporting their ideas about the evil black rifles and semi autos

I don't know as if they're necessarily against black rifles though. I read their press release and it seems like it's more of a respect/tribute sort of thing and I get the impression that it's temporary. Even if they decide not to sell them again and went to only selling hunting-style guns, I still don't think I'd boycott them. That being said, if they came out publically against semi-autos and black rifles and jumped on that bandwagon, then I agree with you whole heartedly and would not continue to support them.

i think the respect/tribute MAY be a cover up. from what little i read sounds like they are not going to sell them agin at all.

Honestly, if that's their decision, doesn't bother me. If they start publicly supporting the anti-2nd Ammendment groups, then I'd have a problem with it. If they are just quietly getting out of the business of dealing those types of firearms, so be it. There are plenty of other places to go.

Nice! I shot an old shotgun and it beat me up pretty good. I learned really quick that the old ones don't have recoil pads
