You could use one of these in the hitch receiver and just unhook it when you wheel.

    EDIT: too late.

Actually, I believe that's exactly what I have behind the license plate.

When I bought the light, it wasn't labeled online as for a motorcycle. I ended up cutting the bottom section of the frame off and screwing that to the tailgate using separate holes/screws.

I believe there are a few guys here running lights like this one

Any idea where you got these MrGrimm? They look super nice and clean instead of using a light bar.

eBay! Just search for motorcycle license plate led. Only downside is that you have to be careful putting them on because the wires will twist as you screw them on.

45acp, so i got the plate mounted and the wires ran and there were two wires on the license plate a black one (ground) and a white one (hot) is that right? I then connected them to the license plate light wires which were green (ground) and white (hot). so white to white and green to black. but the light wont work. i checked the other license plate lights with my hot tester and there is no power to the white hot wire. my brake lights and reverse lights and running lights all work fine, just not my license plate lights. i looked at my trailer wiring harness and its working as well and i am stumped as fuck! Anyone have any idea? is there a separate license plate light fuse?

Yeah the black is ground, but white connects to the green wire. If it still doesn't work, check all your fuses and make sure you didn't blow any. I mistakenly hooked the wrong wires back up after my bed bob and blew the fuse.

If you want to make it all look kinda stock you could go to a scrapyard and cut out a license plate insert off the doors of an old van. A little bit of cutting welding and bodywork and it will look like Toyota put the license plate there.
